Suzuki presents its low-cost 125
Faced with the explosion in sales of Chinese products, Suzuki reacted and launched its Address 125, the result of the strange cross – but widely adopted in Asia – between a scooter and a motorcycle. Could Suzuki take China at its own game? ?
"To drive smart in the city, it’s not just the scooter", legitimately chants Suzuki. Yamaha, which has outstripped its competitors by realizing that a large number of French people subscribed to this slogan, thus distributed the trifle of 6,597 YBR during the year 2006 (read our).
But what scares Suzuki more than this small eco-utility roadster is the rise of Chinese vehicles (read) which have appeared in the top 10 of the best sales in France in recent months….
"Suzuki was no longer present in the 125 utility sector since the abandonment of the AN125 in early 2000", reminds us Pierre-Laurent Feriti, communications manager at Suzuki France. To reinvest in this particularly promising sector, the Japanese manufacturer will therefore offer from May 20, 2007 a new model meeting the" low-cost "demand of French users.
"A potential darling of smart city dwellers, the new Suzuki Address 125 offers a completely new package", announces the Japanese manufacturer !
"Cannon price, rikiki weight and fuel consumption, large 17-inch wheels, effective protective fairing to keep the legs dry, semi-automatic gearbox controlled at the tip of the foot and at the heel, ministerial driving position (not to say presidential in this electoral period, Editor’s note) ensuring a good view of the traffic": these are the many strengths put forward by Suzuki regarding its novelty.
A "novelty" in France to be exact, because this two-wheeler has already been sold "to millions of copies", readily admits the manufacturer, who also explains that this commercial success is mainly due to reliability"legendary"of its 4-stroke single-cylinder !
"The Address 125 is a new model developed for Europe (Euro 3 standards, injection, disc brake …) on the basis of vehicles that are found in abundance in Asia and in the countries of Southern Europe. such as Greece", explains Pierre-Laurent Feriti to Site.
But the French challenge promises to be tough for the new little Suz ‘. As proof, its close cousin, the Honda Innova, only sold 314 copies last year in France … Displayed at a price of € 2,199 including tax, the Suzuki Address 125 – available in blue or in money – will it appeal to French users more?
