Yamaha YZ 250 F (2019)
New quarter-liter crosser
For the 2019 season, Yamaha is introducing the all-new YZ 250 F. It has a new chassis, a new motor with an electric starter and the option of wireless fine-tuning via app.
The 2019 model YZ 250 F received a completely new engine with an electric starter and lithium-ion battery, new cylinder head, new flat forged piston, camshaft profile, cylinder geometry, a clutch with an enlarged diameter and much more. The cylinder design remained inclined backwards, but the angle of inclination became smaller. The throttle body was lighter and the injector was modified. The radiator and exhaust have also been adjusted. The bottom line is the new one Yamaha YZ 250 F thus offer even more performance in the medium and upper performance range as well as a better center of gravity.
Improved chassis
Yamaha
The aluminum double loop frame has been completely redrawn.
The completely new aluminum double loop frame of the Yamaha YZ 250 F has a revision of the upper reinforcement, the rear frame profiles, the swing arm pivot point and a completely new engine mount. This improves the center of gravity and increases the rigidity on the lateral, horizontal and vertical axes. The redesign of the add-on parts and the ergonomics should ensure a lighter and more compact driving experience. The Kayaba spring elements have also been refreshed. The new new air-oil-separated telescopic fork has a larger diameter, the rear suspension strut has become lighter and has an improved damping setting. The Excel rims received a new cross-sectional profile and more stable wheel rims.
Networked wirelessly
Yamaha
Motor settings can be changed using a smartphone app.
The wireless, smartphone-based engine tuning system is an absolute world first in a production motorcycle. The Yamaha Power Tuner app should make it easy to select the exact performance profile for optimal racing results on every racetrack.
The communication control unit (CCU) provides a wireless connection between the motorcycle and the smartphone, via which the fuel / air mixture and the ignition timing map can be set and the engine output adjusted. In addition, it can be used to record race log information and monitor a range of data such as coolant temperature, intake air temperature, air pressure, battery state of charge and also maintenance-related data such as total operating time and more.
