EICMA 2019

The Taiwanese two-wheeler manufacturer Ottobike presented the MCR-S and MXR models at the EICMA in Milan – electric minibikes for commuters.

I.In the second quarter of 2020, the Taiwanese manufacturer Ottobike wants to bring its purely electrically powered commuter models to European customers. The MCR-S and MXR models were presented at the EICMA in Milan. The MCR-S competes in the style of a naked bike, the MXR does a crosser. Both are designed as single-seaters only.

Up to 230 km range

The MCR-S is fired by a 10.5 kW and 30 Nm strong, liquid-cooled electric motor, which is supposed to make the 195 kilogram MCR up to 140 km / h. Eight seconds are specified for the sprint from zero to 100 km / h. The energy is supplied by a 140 Ah battery, which can be charged in 4.5 hours at any conventional socket using the onboard charger. The maximum range is given as 230 kilometers.

The almost two meters long, 92 centimeters wide and 1.12 meters high MCR-S stands on 14-inch wheels that are covered with 110/80 tires at the front and 140/70 tires at the rear. The front wheel has a 35 USD fork and a central spring strut works at the rear. The brake components are from Brembo. A TFT display in the cockpit summarizes all relevant information.

The MXR, which weighs just 100 kilograms and has a cross look, relies on an 11 kW and 45 Nm electric drive unit. Energy is supplied by a battery with a capacity of almost 70 Ah. The range is specified with up to 150 kilometers, the top speed with 120 km / h. The chassis combines a 37 USD fork, a central spring strut and brake components from Tokico and Nissin with a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel. A storage compartment under the bench seat holds a jet helmet.

Ottobike has not yet given any prices for the European models.
