BMW R 18 Classic
A little more tour than pure
With the R 18 Classic, BMW is putting a touring version of the new R 18 on the rails. It comes with a suitcase and a windshield.
The already presented BMW R 18 makes an extremely classic cruiser. The new BMW R 18 Classic expands the concept with a touring component.
Factory touring accessories
Compared to the very purist R 18, the R 18 Classic is characterized by the large windshield, the removable pillion seat, the removable saddlebags, the two additional LED headlights positioned next to the main headlight and the 16-inch front wheel. This is also a wire-spoke wheel. A tire measuring 130/90 rotates on the 3.0×16 inch rim. Following the basic touristic orientation of the Classic, the cruise control is standard on board.
The windshield holder is connected to the front of the vehicle at four points. At the top, the windshield is inserted into the fork and at the bottom it is connected to the retaining bracket with locking clips, which also carries additional headlights and indicators. The pillion seat is plugged in and screwed on for easy removal. The saddlebags each offer 15.5 liters of luggage volume. If the inner pockets are used, the volume is 10 liters each. Push-in fasteners for opening and closing are hidden under the stylishly designed metal buckles. The vehicle is connected using screws. The blind screws supplied close the holes when riding without saddlebags.

Technology comes from the BMW R 18
The heart of the matter remains the conclusion
As usual with BMW, the new R 18 is also being expanded into a model family. The base is now followed by a lightweight touring version, the Classic. We have already caught a -BMW R 18 as a full dresser as Erlkonig.
