The US motorcycle manufacturer Indian has presented its innovations for the 2021 model year. This brings new model generations, technology upgrades, an expanded range of original accessories and new special models.

D.he updates for 2021 relate to the Thunderstroke, PowerPlus and Scout product lines.

Indian Thunderstroke and PowerPlus models

The cruiser range now also includes the Indian Vintage Dark Horse with black leather bags and blacked-out styling. The Roadmaster series is getting some upgrades for 2021. Apple CarPlay is now standard across the range and the Roadmaster Limited and Roadmaster Dark Horse models are fitted with the new climate control seat as standard. The Roadmaster Limited is characterized by glossy paintwork, chrome surfaces, a modern fairing design, an open front fender and integrated side cases.

The redesigned Roadmaster Dark Horse offers matt paint options. Each model is powered by the air-cooled Thunderstroke 116 engine and offers, among other things, Metzeler Cruisetec tires, panels with adjustable ventilation openings, heated handles and a windshield that can be adjusted at the push of a button. The standard amenities of the entire Roadmaster range include remote-lockable side cases and a top case with over 140 liters of combined storage space, adjustable passenger running boards, ABS, cruise control, keyless ignition, tire pressure monitoring and LED lighting. In addition, the start buttons of the Chieftain, Roadmaster, Springfield and Challenger models have been relocated to the fittings on the handlebars to make space for a new 12-volt charging connection.

Available as an accessory upgrade for most Chieftain, Roadmaster and Challenger models: the Pathfinder S LED headlights with significantly higher light output than the standard headlights. Challenger buyers can also upgrade their model with the Power Band Audio quick-change speaker kit. A 64 liter top case is also new for the Challenger.

A new padded sissy bar with a flat line and a low backrest is available for both the Indian Challenger and the Thunderstroke models. In addition, Challenger and Thunderstroke riders can add even more wind protection with higher accessory windshield options and added comfort with an extended range seat, highway pegs and paddle shift. Indian also offers complete comfort packages for the Thunderstroke models. The color palette has also been reshuffled.

Updates to Indian Scout models

The Scout series will be available in 2021 either with a 1,000-series V2 with 76 hp or a 1,100-series V2 with 94 hp. There are also new colors and an expanded range of accessories. These include wind deflectors, windshields and side pockets.
