MOTORRAD Podcast Curve Discussion Episode 7
So it is with the prestigious super athletes
What about the prestigious super athletes? In an interview with Ferdinand Heinrich, the test editors Johannes Muller and Ralf Schneider explain why the driver is still the decisive factor for lap times.
Episode # 07 –W.he is the class of super athletes?
Around 200 hp, around 200 kilograms on the scales and around 1,000 cm³ displacement – the current generation of sports bikes is more powerful and weight-optimized than ever. In this curve discussion we will address the following questions: How is the prestigious class of super athletes today? How do you manage the constructive balancing act between everyday life and the racetrack? Isn’t physics slowly setting a limit? -The established elite from Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha faced the new Honda Fireblade in the big Superbike group test. In an interview with Ferdinand Heinrich, the test editors Johannes Muller and Ralf Schneider explain in an impressive manner why the driver is still the decisive factor for lap times – assistance systems and driving modes regardless. The engine power no longer plays a decisive role beyond 170 hp. In all the analyzes, one question had to remain unanswered: Which bike delivers the best track performance? In this episode you will hear the curve discussion why this has not happened yet.
