Presentation of the Harley-Davidson Road King Special
Naked King
With the Harley-Davidson Road King Special, the US manufacturer is introducing a new model in its Touring series. With it, the new “Milwaukee Eight” engine is used again.
The R.oad King Special is, if you will, the naked bike among the thickest of all Harleys, namely in Harley-Davidson’s Touring series. It is an offshoot of the Road King, but without its windshield. The Harley-Davidson Road King Special also dispenses with the chrome-plated auxiliary headlights, instead sporting matte black on the massive fork, the lamp, which is also a locomotive in terms of size, and a number of other parts. A 23 centimeter high “Mini Ape-Hanger” rises above it as a handlebar, also in black.
And what does the Harley-Davidson Road King Special wear underneath? The new, “Milwaukee Eight” christened four-valve V-Twin with 1745 cubic meters, 90 hp and a maximum torque of 150 Nm at 3250 rpm. Unlike the previous “TwinCam” engines, the new engine, which was previously reserved exclusively for Harley’s Touring models, only has one camshaft below. The cylinder heads are liquid-cooled on the exhaust side.
