Wunderlich 850 SuMo at EICMA
Supermoto based on the F 850 GS
BMW accessories specialist Wunderlich has come up with a very special eye-catcher for the EICMA. The Sinzig team built a supermoto based on the new BMW F 850 GS.
BMW is still working on its street version of the new 850 twin-cylinder series. W.underlich, on the other hand, was already active and simply converted the GS into a street fun bike. The Wunderlich 850 SuMo celebrates its premiere at the EICMA.
Fancy wire spoke wheels
The most striking change to the 850 is the new gear train. Wunderlich worked closely with the renowned Italian rim manufacturer Alpina Raggi S.P.A. from Lomagna worked together. The Wunderlich SuMo is therefore equipped with the latest generation of tubeless rims, which Alpina Raggi is presenting as a world first at the EICMA. The forged STS 2 rims should be characterized by excellent concentricity, a double O-ring system for airtight sealing of the spokes and an outstanding ratio of stiffness to weight. They are mounted on the SuMo in the dimensions 3.5×17 inches at the front and 5.5×17 inches at the rear. They are fitted with Metzeler Racetec K1 tires of dimensions 120 / 70-17 at the front and 180 / 55-17 at the rear.
Wunderlich has coordinated the spring elements with this. The fully adjustable fork carries a new cartridge, the rear ESA shock absorber has also been modified. A larger sprocket has been mounted at the rear for a good pull on the chain.
Wunderlich SuMo with rear conversion
In addition, a new bench is used, which is taller and narrower. The Wunderlich rear conversion on the SuMo consists of the upper rear end, a matching lower part and an integrated license plate holder. A new windshield is emblazoned in front of the driver and the 95 hp twin has been paired with a new rear silencer. In addition, the SuMo is equipped with numerous other add-on parts from the Wunderlich range for the 850 BMW.
