First Turkish yard-built project
Content of
The two brothers Can and Mert Uzer converted a Yamaha XSR 700 and entered it in the yard built competition. The first yard-built contribution from Turkey is impressive!
You don’t see such a constellation every day in the tuning industry: One is a professional skater, the other a former advertising specialist from the digital industry. Nevertheless (or maybe because of it?) The result of the two brothers Can and Mert Uzer is more than impressive. The tracker look custom bike submitted to the Yard Built project is based on a Yamaha XSR 700.
The two guys from the Istanbul tuning company Bunker Custom Motorcycles had already drawn attention to themselves with a converted 1982 Yamaha SR 500. This led to a collaboration between the Uzer brothers and Yamaha for the Yard-Built project.
Many parts rebuilt by hand
On the Yamaha XSR 700, the two brothers from Bunker Custom Motorcycles initially raised the seating position to give the driver more freedom of movement. In addition, the exhaust was converted and a 19-inch front wheel was installed, which has a positive effect on the ground clearance. The standard cast rims gave way to wire wheels from the Super Tenere. The standard fork was also exchanged for the upside-down fork of the MT-09 Tracer.
The tank and side panels, fenders, radiator covers and seat supports were handcrafted by the Turkish tuners. Also new: a sand-blasted, polished aluminum backbone from the CNC milling machine that houses the tank cladding. The standard handlebars also had to make way for a new handlebar from Renthal. In addition, the bench was covered with suede. When it comes to painting, the two tuners have based themselves on the graphic style of the 80s.
If you want to know more about the converted Yamaha XSR 700 from Bunker Custom Motorcycles, the following video from the two tuners from Istanbul is recommended.
