Royal Enfield Desert Runner 650

Custom bike from Revival Cycles

The customizers from Revival Cycles have pre-knotted a Royal Enfield INT 650 and made a chic scrambler called Revival X Royal Enfield Desert Runner 650 from it.

The two models Continental GT 650 and Interceptor INT 650 from R.oyal Enfield have enjoyed great popularity since their presentation at EICMA 2017. Our editorial team has also shown great interest in the two Enfields and added the Interceptor INT 650 to the long-term test fleet. It is not surprising that various customizers are also showing increased interest in the 650 Enfields. One of these customizing forges is the team from Revival Cycles, which has put a scrambler on the wheels based on the Interceptor INT 650.

Lots of components handmade

Many of the components used were carefully handcrafted especially for this conversion. The customizers borrowed the suspension elements from the Suzuki DR-Z. For this, however, various components such as the wheel suspension had to be adapted. For the tires, the Revival Cycles team opted for 18-inch wire-spoke rims including scrambler-typical studded tires. The aluminum exhaust and engine protection plate were also specially made for the Desert Runner 650.

The customizers from Revival Cycles have put this scrambler on the wheels based on the Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650.

In addition, the frame had to be adjusted in some places in order to be able to put the bike on the wheels as shown. The new bench, including the brown leather cover, comes from our own shop. To round off the conversion, an aluminum fender was also made in-house. The fact that the Revival X Royal Enfield Desert Runner 650 was not built for the showroom is shown by its appearance on the LAB2V, where the conversion covered over 400 miles on partly very rustic terrain. Licked blood? The conversion can be ordered in the official Revival Cycles online shop. Including a new Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650, the price is said to be between 25,000 and 30,000 US dollars.

Conclusion

With the Desert Runner 650, the Revival Cycles customizers have shown what a Royal Enfield Scrambler model could look like. We can only hope that the manufacturer himself will also recognize the trend and possibly delight us with a suitable series model at the upcoming EICMA.
