2017 BMW K 1600 B: first information
BMW unveils a week after Intermot in Cologne its K 1600 Bagger version, the K 1600 B, powered by the 160 hp inline 6-cylinder engine to Euro4 standards. This new fleeting motorcycle features a specific rear loop and luggage, a short electric windshield and in-house ESA Dynamic damping.
The assertive bagger look of this refers directly to the style study "" discovered on MNC in spring 2015. Its lines evoking American customs owe nothing to chance: BMW is openly targeting the overseas market with this fourth version of its 6-cylinder flagship ( with the, and). A motorcycle dedicated "to living the dream of freedom and independence and to embodying" American grand tourism ", specifies the propeller brand, which however preferred to leave footrests directly above the bust and not advanced steps as on most customs (available as an option).
Only offered in black, this K 1600 B offers a lowered rear section via a specific frame loop, on which redesigned rigid suitcases sit. This stern with round and streamlined shapes is highlighted by the two long fully chrome exhausts from which escape the beautiful vocalizations of the 6-cylinder 160 hp and some 175 Nm of torque. With the Honda F6B, the K 1600 B joins the very closed circle of Bagger powered by such an engine (flat on the Honda, in line on the BMW) !
This is fitted as standard with a short electric windshield, a removable rear mudguard to facilitate removal of the rear wheel and the ESA Dynamic in-house damping, whose action in time on the hydraulics can be configured via the "Road" and "Cruise" modes. It can receive as an option the new reverse gear unveiled in Cologne on the, the Pro shifter (which works on upshift and downshift) as well as the emergency call device, also presented in Germany and for the moment only functional in this country.
