Crash test: Site puts its Segura equipment to the test !
When you test biker clothes on the Moto Journal du Net, you don’t do things by halves … The proof with this test of a complete Segura outfit, accident included: if the Julys pants have fulfilled their function perfectly, the Cassidy gloves and the Stripe jacket did not fully resist the fall… Debriefing with brand managers.

That day, the Journal moto du Net wore a Segura set (Holding Trophy group). We also recommend the Julys pants for their wide cut at the ankles allowing you to put on good big boots and for their very effective hip and knee protection..
Cassidy gloves, with a deliciously retro look, offer good protection for the back and the flat of the hand, but beware of the thumb which is exposed to shocks! In our "low-side", the right thumb tapped and then slipped on the asphalt. Appraisal: fracture of the metacarpal bone 1 and small scar.

MNC: Are the tests and approvals carried out internally or by an independent body? ?
Segura: We carry out in-house tests to obtain product pre-tests on our samples, then we go through an independent body to obtain final certification. Note in passing that the exact terms to use are "homologation" for helmets and "certification" for PPE..

Segura : As Dan Wu describes in his thesis report based on the Rhône register which includes 7,981 road victims in 2 and 3 motorized wheels:
- Serious injuries (AIS3 +) (p. 95) concern less than 11% of victims while minor injuries (AIS1) concern more than 60%..
- The most frequent injuries (p.98) are as follows in decreasing order of importance:
- Contusions: 53%
- Abrasions: 34%
- Fractures: 29%
- Sprains, stretching: 23%
- Wounds (skin, tendons, ligaments, muscles, menisci): 17%
Contusions and abrasion are minor injuries (AIS1). Wounds and sprains are mostly minor lesions at over 80%. However, fractures constitute moderate (64% AIS2) or even severe (28% AIS3 +) injuries..

Segura : No, we do not have statistics on these accidents.
MNC: Do you study the condition of your products after a fall? ?
Segura : Of course, all the products we receive are carefully analyzed. We have an after-sales service which collects the products, analyzes them and repairs them and then returns them to customers when possible..
MNC: Take action on demand on old, worn or damaged equipment ?
Segura : Yes, on customer request and on estimate. Our after-sales service very often receives gifts in gratitude for the work done, because sometimes repaired clothes have a special meaning for their owner..
MNC: Are there any tips for “good” fall? Reflexes to avoid or to work on ?
Segura : We have no tips but we remind you that it is essential to be well equipped with clothing adapted to your size and morphology (whatever your means of motorized transport).

MNC: What are the requirements for zippers and snaps ?
Segura : The zippers and snaps meet the maintenance tests carried out by the laboratories. The product is tested using a conical handle representing the hand (glove) and forearm (jacket / jacket). The product must withstand a certain force without tearing off the cone.
