Triumph Bonneville T100, T100 Black and Street Cup 2017: first information
Triumph is unsurprisingly expanding its Bonneville range in 2017 with three new versions of its Street Twin and its 900 cc water-cooled twin: the traditional T100 and T100 Black as well as the new Cafe Racer Street Cup.
Triumph T100 and T100 Black
Completely revised in 2015, the Bonneville family now revolves around two water-cooled twin cylinders: one of 900 cc installed on the very balanced and accessible, the other of 1200 cc developed for the classic and its Cafe Racer variation, particularly effective in its. Faithful to tradition, Triumph adds in 2017 the T100 and T100 Black versions to the 900 range, recognizable by aesthetic details such as specific aluminum covers, bolted Triumph badges or a seat with different padding..
As before, the T100 Black is also adorned with a black tint on its 18 and 17 inch rims, its exhaust and its housings..
These new versions also differ by the increase of some of their chassis characteristics, such as their wheelbase which goes from 1439 to 1450 mm and their trail which opens from 102.4 to 104 mm. In addition, the greater padding of their saddle increases its height from 750 to 790 mm, while the tank of now 14.5 liters (12 l on the standard) partly explains the consequent increase in weight: from 198 kg on the standard Street Twin at 213 kg on these T100.
Triumph Street Cup
The very attractive Street Cup surfs on Cafe Racer fashion with its removable backrest seat, its short windshield, its mirrors placed at the end of the handlebars or its footrests and its double display dials inspired by the Thruxton. Ergonomics are radicalized a chouia (the saddle is moved back and raised from 750 to 780 mm), while the new "Ace" handlebars would offer according to Triumph a "more engaged" driving position.
In addition, this Street Cup version inherits a new Nissin 2-piston caliper and specific suspensions, which would tilt the base of the bike to the front. At the mechanical level, no changes have been made except for the transplant of shortened and now raised silencers. Whether it is this Street Cup or the T100 and T100 Black, the engine remains the twin cylinder stalled at 270 ° discovered last year, with its 55 hp and 80 Nm available very early (at 3200 rpm ) but distributed fairly linearly.
Completely overhauled, this water-cooled 8-valve block has a perfectly calibrated ride-by-wire electronic throttle control, also at the origin of its bird’s appetite (4.29 to 4.81 l / 100 km measured during of our ). Modern despite its retro look, this bike also has a USB socket, an LED light, an immobilizer and an anti-slip (can be deactivated).
The Triumph T100, T100 Black and Street Cup are compatible with A2 license requirements via a specific kit. Their price is not yet communicated but for comparison, the standard Street Twin is currently displayed at 9,125 €: the foreseeable increase should undoubtedly make them exceed the 10,000 € mark..
