No question about it: in addition to the salaries that MotoGP riders receive from their teams, Marquez, Rossi earn & Co. once again significantly more through sponsorship contracts. Since these purchases are not tangible, we will concentrate here exclusively on the salaries of the MotoGP stars. Not surprisingly, the best-known and most successful drivers get the highest income. At the top is the reigning champion Marc Marquez, who is said to receive between 15 and 18 million US dollars from Honda, followed by old master Valentino Rossi with an annual salary of 10 million US dollars. Behind this is already Ducati driver Andrea Dovizioso in the payroll with 7 million US dollars.
Formula 1 world champion Hamilton in a different dimension
If you compare the salaries of the MotoGP stars with the salaries of the Formula 1 drivers, however, the two-wheelers clearly have to admit defeat. According to Forbes, Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton will receive a whopping 30 million US dollars from Mercedes. Thanks to bonuses, the salary can even rise to just under 50 million US dollars. Thanks to lucrative advertising contracts, the British are also likely to get significantly more. In the Formula 1 ranking, Sebastian Vettel follows with 45 million US dollars and Daniel Ricciardo with 17 million US dollars.
