Sepp Sattler has once again hit the nerve of the TunerGP: In addition to the engine and chassis of the series gun, he has left nothing else untouched.

Sauba sog I: Sepp Sattler gets accurate performance from the small Gixxer engine, which can be called up very linearly and is therefore very easy to drive.

Already the feeling on the brakes, the formidable deceleration and with the soulful braking into the fast corners of the Hockenheimring
can be excited.

The ultra-stiff and light swing arm of the Sattler Moto2 machine was created in a complex self-construction with welding work.

Of course, Sepp did not want to be satisfied with a Moto2 standard engine. So he grabbed the Suzi four-cylinder by the crankshaft (finely balanced), the cylinder head (valve seats and ducts machined) and the injection – only one injection rail supplies the engine with fuel.

And this is how the Suzuki looks without a fairing.

131 HP are impressive.

Even the swing arm of the Suzuki GSX-R 600 has been completely redesigned, the tank (12.4 liters) built and relocated, the wiring harness retracted, the alternator, starter, heat exchanger torn out and the mechanical water pump replaced with an electronic one.

Sattler Motorsport is based in Triftern. Josef Sattler can be seen on the right.

All for one goal: to build a radically light Moto2 motorcycle. He succeeded splendidly, because with a full tank of 154 kilos, this bike was comparatively lightest that ever hit the TunerGP.

Overall, we bow deeply and in gratitude to Sepp Sattler’s enthusiasm for experimentation. This is real tuner spirit and gave us a unique driving experience.

Tuning rocket from Bavaria

Sattler Motorsport is always an adornment for the PS-TunerGP, because the active Bavarian likes to experiment and is a bit freaked out. Like his Sattler-Suzuki Moto2 based on a GSX-R 600 K8 – crazy!

Tuning rocket from Bavaria
Folds into a curve that leaves you breathless
However, before we testers can attack this unique bullet, we are chained to it. The Sattler-Moto2 immediately switches off the engine in the event of a fall by means of a split pin, which is fastened to the wrist with a cable, in order to avoid major damage. No wonder, because the Sattler Suzuki Moto2 does not get a cooling airstream, the temperature of the breeding bull shoots up almost faster than the tachometer when turning the Euro Racing short-stroke throttle.
The Sattler-Suzuki Moto2 patters to the pit exit with the pit limiter. Even on the short piece, the racing roll is of the ultra-stiff variety. The chassis made of R1 fork (RN 22/43 mm) and the Gixxer shock absorber redesigned by WP man Andi Vogt is rock-hard and calls for speed attacks, not for strolling through the pit. With a roar it finally goes on the slopes and there the tuning rocket shows what it can do.

Sauba sog I: Sepp Sattler gets accurate performance from the small Gixxer engine, which can be called up very linearly and is therefore very easy to drive.
Perhaps the real Moto2 that Honda-Wellbrock has with it in the form of the Suter-Honda is even more precise when turning and more manageable, but the Sattler-Suzuki Moto2 folds into a curve that almost takes your breath away. A few rounds of acclimatization are necessary, but then the fun comes by itself. The feeling of being on the brakes, which decelerates tremendously and can be used to gently brake into the fast corners of the Hockenheimring, is impressive.
However, the lightweight construction made itself felt by a nervous stern at the end of the Parabolika or in front of the Mercedes grandstand when anchored hard. Also at the expense of the very light aft deck, the rattling rear wheel went on the very fast left after the hairpin, which was hit by light waves in the asphalt. After adjusting the rear damping, the Sepp Sattler got a grip on something, but he couldn’t turn it off completely. Which shows that such a radical file causes a great deal of effort in the setup and thus also exudes the right GP spirit. This is because the suspension struts are often exchanged several times during such chassis reactions. Overall, we bow deeply and in gratitude to the Sattler Suzuki Moto2. This is real tuner spirit and gave us a unique driving experience.
