Anyone who has decided on a Scandinavian vacation is faced with a choice: Finnish lakes, Norwegian drama or Swedish idyll? Or would you prefer Danish beaches plus ice cream in Iceland?

Northern Europe offers motorcycle travelers half a continent of the most varied of landscapes and opportunities. Depending on the schedule and budget, completely different route combinations are possible when choosing the ferry ports.

DENMARK
The first stopover for many travelers. The gentle landscapes and idyllic villages of the two largest parts of the country, Jutland and Zealand, have more potential than mere transit status. Especially the long beaches on the North Sea and the Baltic Sea offer wonderful opportunities for water rates ?? and can sometimes even be used by bike. In addition, Denmark is practically the bridgehead to the north, with the departure and arrival ports of many ferries going to Iceland, Norway or Sweden.

ICELAND
The journey from Hanstholm in Denmark alone costs a full four days. So if you want to go to the wild island, which is closer to Greenland than Norway, you should plan several weeks of vacation. Nowhere else in Europe do volcanoes boil so unabashedly next to the largest glaciers, geysers and hot sulfur springs boil next to mighty waterfalls. And fewer people live. Statistically 2.8 per square kilometer, actually 60 percent in the greater Reykjavik area. Good preparation is therefore essential for the island on the Arctic Circle.

Scarcely less daring in terms of landscape, the country with Europe’s longest coastline can claim the top spot in Scandinavia. 21,000 kilometers between Oslo and Kirkenes form one of Norway’s greatest attractions.

FINLAND
