Automaker brings electric scooters

At the end of 2019, the automaker Seat presented an electric scooter in Barcelona. Now the Seat Mo eScooter 125 comes onto the market. It is part of a new mobility concept.

D.Urban mobility will not have to be done by car in the future, thought the Spanish VW subsidiary Seat and presented a purely electrically powered scooter at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, ​​Spain, in November 2019. The was developed by the car manufacturer in cooperation with the specialist Silence. The e-scooter enters the 125cc class with a 7 kW (continuous output; 9 kW peak output) engine. With a torque of 240 Nm it should go to work. It should spurt from zero to 50 km / h in 3.9 seconds. The maximum speed stated is 95 km / h. The range is likely to be much more important for customers. The Seat e-scooter is expected to travel around 137 kilometers with one charge of its 5.6 kWh battery.

70 cents for 100 km

The 41 kilogram energy storage device can be removed and taken into the apartment or house for charging. Because 41 kilos are heavy, Seat has integrated wheels and a handle – the battery becomes a suitcase on wheels. Seat states that the charging time is six to eight hours. When it comes to consumption costs, Seat calculates 70 cents for 100 kilometers. Two helmets should be able to be stowed under the seat of the e-scooter. Of course, the Seat e-scooter can be networked and the most important functions can be monitored via smartphone app.

The seat e-scooter optically takes on design elements of the Seat car models. He relies on a stepped bench seat, a deep step-through and a large windshield. The lighting elements are made with LED technology. At the back there is a fully clad wheel, the front wheel has flat double spokes. Disc brakes are used to decelerate.

The Seat Mo eScooter 125 will be delivered from November 2020. Seat calls the price 6,250 euros. In Spain, the e-scooter can also be leased for three euros a day. Seat speculates with the Mo eScooter on private and corporate customers as well as operators of sharing fleets.
