The lawyer – and biker – Sebastien Poirier elected president of the FFMoto
Chaired for twelve years by Jacques Bolle, the French Motorcycling Federation has been led since last Friday by Sebastien Poirier. Managing Director of the FFM since 2009, he follows the same path as his predecessor. Explanations.
Two days after the press and farewell conference of President Jacques Bolle, the general assembly of the French Motorcycling Federation was held. In addition to the renewal of the management team, this meeting aimed to elect the new president, the previous one having served his maximum three terms….
"Mr. Sebastien Poirier was elected with 88.4% of the votes for the presidency for the 2020-2024 term", reports the federation. Without much surprise and therefore logically, it is the director of the FFM who succeeds Jacques Bolle…

Joining FFMoto at just 22 years old (1995) as a lawyer – the first directly integrated into the federal structure – Sebastien Poirier gradually rose through the ranks: sports director in 2001, deputy general manager in 2008 and general manager l ‘Next year.
His Master’s degree in public law and his Master’s degree in sports law and economics from Limoges should enable him to effectively defend the interests of clubs and licensees. During his assessment, Jacques Bolle testified that his legal knowledge had served him more than his podiums – and a victory! – in motorcycle Grand Prix…
The good management of the Carole circuit, of which Sebastien Poirier has been the director since 2012, pleaded in its favor, as did his experience as president of the motorcycle club organizing the Supermoto des Nations 2017 and 2019 (on the Ile-de-France circuit, always).
The sports federation finally underlines that this man – born September 8, 1973, married, two children – is a real "daily biker, (who) rides in leisure sports on asphalt and off-road circuits" … Site wishes him to succeed in all the projects it details below.
Statement by FFMoto President Sebastien Poirier
"I would like to thank the members of the Steering Committee and of the General Assembly for their confidence. I also wish to greet my predecessor Jacques Bolle, whom I have had the pleasure of accompanying since 2008 at the General Directorate of the Federation, to its exceptional and decisive contribution to the influence of the French Motorcycle Federation both nationally and internationally.
My ambition is to continue the development of motorcycle sport by opening it up to new practices, especially those of leisure. Indeed, French society is changing in its approach to sport and we must adapt to it by very broadly encouraging all audiences..
I also want a Federation that is committed to youth.
I will obviously strengthen and amplify the support for Moto-Clubs, Departmental Committees and Leagues.
We are going to work to welcome our licensees even better to the 850 motorcycle practice sites in France, our sports offer must be accessible to as many people as possible and under the best conditions..
At the high level, the detection and support of pilots will be priorities, real levers for the influence of our sport..
Finally, I intend to initiate a proactive prevention policy against violence of all kinds, to promote the social responsibility of motorcycling activities ".
