Driving Report: Harley Ultra Classic E-Glide
Who likes to get a lot of motorcycle for his money, is right at the Ultra Classic. Crow pure is announced at the FLHTCU- such its exact name. Each letter in the model name stands for just under 65 kilos of empty weight, which makes in total 385 kilos. The price of opulent equipment, the Harley saves the comfort of nothing. Thus, in the voluminous fairing, integrated speakers, the front leg shields serve to ventilation and offer storage compartments, while suitcases and topcase spray the charm of a sophisticated travel vehicle, which unfortunately only 185 kilos can download. For comparison: Even the small Sportster 883 can transport nine kilos more.
Just the peace
Under the overbound optics, a conventional double-loop steel tube frame keeps all together, while three brake discs for unerring, but sufficient delay. At the front, a telegraph is installed while the rear struts are air-assisted. All in all, the comfort-oriented driving characteristics – especially on long motorway stages. However, if the streets are tight and agriculted, you have to make a little effort, you want to keep the TV steamer on course or circle around the corner. Also, you are looking for an abs, as it is available otherwise, in the Harley in vain.

Apart from whether something makes sense: I would like to complete such tours with none of the previously possessed bikes (various BMW S, Japanese and Goldwings). It’s not just the myth, the incredibly comfortable and relaxed seating position through the narrow engine block and the steps make it possible!
Motor in the stand too restless
Who, like me every year several 1000 miles through the US, knows that the E-Glide is great for driving, but with the engine running, is very ‘getting used to the rubber-latched engine. I praise myself as a tourer the Heritage Classic. On CD player and tempomat I can still do without moped.
Harley-Davidson does not want everyone
Who does not like Harley-Davidson, who does not like them. And who she likes, he remains. Like me. I drove soulless Japanese before. Now I move a Night Rod Special. She is not perfect, but that does not matter to me. Peas counters should drive better Japanese. Anyway, I’m glad that not every Hinz and Kunz Harley drives.

ABS as standard from model year 2008
From the model year 2008, the E-Glide Ultra is installed as standard. A immobilizer and alarm system is standard integrated in the Security System. An RFID transponder automatically activates the alarm system and immobilizer when you remove 5 m from the bike and vice versa.
Harley? No thank you!
After numerous BMWs I had fulfilled my dream and bought a low rider converdible. Mytos harley. The disillusionment soon came. No street position, boring acceleration, stainless screws etc.Etc. Colleagues had equipped with thicker Harleys and now, after 7 years, no one has more his iron block. We now drive Japanese without exception and are completely satisfied.
