Kawasaki lines up its Superbike team for the 2019 Suzuka 8H
Kawasaki sees things big for the 2019 Suzuka 8H, final of the endurance world championship on July 28: instead of Team Green, the Akashi factory will field its WorldSBK team with Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam (KRT) and Toprak Razgatlioglu (Puccetti). Explanations.
While global endurance is increasingly important to Japanese factories, the Suzuka 8H at home is of particular importance. This is why Kawasaki has decided to enter neither more nor less than its official team in WorldSBK for the 2019 edition. !

"I’m very happy to be doing the Suzuka 8H again with Kawasaki because this race has a huge place in my heart," said Jonathan Rea. "After being so competitive last year with Team Green (editor’s note), I want more. Last year we drove fast, but we made a few mistakes that we will use to be even better This is one of the toughest and most exciting races in the world. Running in 36 ° C is a real test for man and machine. I love this challenge and can’t wait to find all the Japanese fans ".

For Leon Haslam, "The Suzuka 8H is a fantastic event that I will be participating in for the fourth time in a row with Kawasaki. We had some good races there, especially once I rode for 5h30 of 8! L ‘last year with Jonathan, we were in the lead until we had a little problem but we got on the podium every year and I think we improved. With good tests, we can finally get on the first step of the podium. It’s cool to ride with Johnny because we have very close settings and we will see what strategy to adopt this year. I can’t wait! "
Finally, Toprak Razgatlioglu considers it his "dream team! I’m ready, as always, and we’ll see what happens. I’m a fan of 8 hour races but this will be my first time as a driver. I’m really lucky to be part of the team with Johnny and Leon, it’s amazing! I rode a Japanese Superbike once last year. The Kawasaki team told me it was a close bike the 8 hour race. The main difference is the fuel tank in endurance configuration. For me, the biggest difference with the WorldSBK will be the Bridgestone tires. It is a dream to do the Suzuka 8H because it is is an incredible circuit! "
This "dream team" of the Greens, on the other hand, risks not making much dream of the French team Kawasaki SRC of Gilles Stafler (Jeremy Guarnoni, David Checa and Erwan Nigon), whose participation in the 8H Suzuka is not guaranteed despite its position at the top of the championship after his magnificent victory at the …
