Sparkling wine or seltzer: Suzuki GSX 750 F versus GSX-R 750

Unfair, this comparison. The only thing these Suzuki have in common: They have four cylinders with a displacement of 750 cubic centimeters. Otherwise they are worlds apart, the GSX-R 750 will drive the touring GSX 750 F to the ground, according to the unanimous and somewhat hasty opinion of the testers.
Because the venue for this comparison is the Nordschleife, perhaps the most selective test track in the world. Does the material demand the utmost? but also from the driver. And in this regard, the apparently inferior F can play out advantages. Because it doesn’t overwhelm its pilot. Almost 100 hp, power enough, not just to get to know the difficult route. Even the connoisseur does not lose ground so quickly on the lively sister R. Comfortable, handy and ?? because of its moderate tires? beautifully accurate, the supposed underdog offers plenty of chassis reserves for legally compliant country roads. Only the ring professionals among the testers drive the GSX to its limits in fast, undulating passages, harsh criticism has to put up with the lack of leadership quality of the underdamped fork. Nevertheless: The F, by far the cheapest motorcycle in this comparison, also deserves respect from the active racing professionals and old Nordschleife foxes in the test team.
Not only when it comes to the chassis beyond doubt: the GSX-R. None of the contestants here pulls their way around the Nordschleife as steadfastly as the Suzuki Superbike. Even heavy blows do not disturb them. And that’s why the GSX-R gives the ring newbie a lot of trust from the very first few meters. To which your standard steering damper makes a good contribution. Annoying beating of the handlebars that other super athletes use to get their driver’s adrenaline levels up on the Nordschleife? a foreign word for the arrow-fast R. To do this, it drives precisely, regardless of whether it is in tighter curves such as the winding Hatzenbach or in the fast radii, for example after the Kesselchen. For the sake of stability, the test crew deliberately refrained from lifting the rear of the GSX-R, which is why it is not quite as handy as in various previous comparative tests on and off the racetrack.
On the Nordschleife, she impressively proves that she can do more than “just” chase the best times. The GSX-R 750, the golden mean between the speed-hungry 600s and 1000s cars. A motorcycle that is characterized by its good-naturedness and its all-round successful ergonomics. Because of her ?? for a super athlete? In a remarkably comfortable seating position, it is unrestrictedly suitable for the big vacation trip.
W.In turn, the R impresses with its superbly and smoothly appealing four-cylinder, which develops an amazing amount of steam even in the middle speed range and, if necessary, moves energetically into the speed limiter. An absolutely everyday super sports car, this Suzuki. It drives itself into the hearts of all testers. And because the little sister F can keep up with the R much longer than expected, she can now be considered a recommendation for newcomers to the Nordschleife ?? and leave the Eifel with your head held high.
