In the category of customs “muscle-bike”, we often have a mouth and a big engine pushing behind. But for those who just want the face without having to deal with a big torque and the huge twin that goes with it, what is it? Not much ; that’s why Suzuki offers this M 800 Intruder. The recipe: very simple. The same design as the powerful 1800, with its characteristic fork crown. It is a little softer on the 800, less bulky but still surprising with its trapezoidal headlight encapsulated in a consequent cowling. Add to that an inverted fork, quite a bit of chrome, and you’ve got a machine that turns heads. But where everything changes is in the technique. With 1,000 cc less, 80 kg of weight reduction and over 70 horsepower difference, the little Intruder is playing in a whole different court. His thing is parry, accessibility, show off without having to deal with the character of a big monster. Releasing 53 nags, the liquid twin recovers the double butterfly injection to optimize its filling. He will thus take you everywhere but will not have to ask him to burn gum at a red light. With the exception of the fork and wheels, the chassis is that of the cousin C 800. A classic double tubular steel cradle.
Price question, a world separates the 2 protagonists of the muscular custom: nearly 6,000 euros less to afford the 800 and the famous futuro-classic silhouette of the VZR. If you hesitate and are looking for a compromise, there is also an intermediary: the M 1500 Intruder.
