Luggage, protection and comfort
Whether aluminum cases or plastic bags, tank bags, crash pads or footrests – SW-Motech has a lot of accessories to offer for the new BMW S 1000 XR.

In the motorcycle new registration statistics, the BMW S 1000 XR landed in 21st place with 1,051 units in 2019, making it the fourth most popular BMW motorcycle in Germany. In the first half of 2020 it was in a strong 12th place for new registrations and with its 946 units within six months it almost reached its full year result of the previous year. So it works with the S 1000 XR. This is largely due to the thorough revision for the new model year: BMW donated the adventure bike a new engine, a new chassis and lots of new equipment. It has become lighter, more manoeuvrable and more agile, without losing any of its long-distance suitability. She would like an accessory supplier to be even more suitable for touring SW-Motech make, which has cases, bags, crash pads, bars and much more for the new BMW S 1000 XR from 2019 onwards.
Luggage solutions for the S 1000 XR
The Aero ABS cases, each with 25 liters of storage space, can be attached to the PRO side carrier with a single movement. Two cases including side carriers cost 565.38 euros as a set. If you need even more storage space, you can also order the Urban ABS topcase, which, together with the matching Adventure-Rack luggage rack, costs 311.93 euros and offers between 16 and 29 liters of luggage volume.
Aluminum case for the BMW S 1000 XR
If you want to attach aluminum topcases and cases from the Trax ADV or the slightly cheaper ION series to your BMW S 1000 XR, you have to dig a little deeper for the adventure look: the Trax ADV case set costs 974.79 euros (45 liters each) including PRO side carrier, for the top case (38 liters) with the Adventure-Rack luggage carrier it is 477.65 euros. The Trax ION case system costs 828.57 euros and also includes the matching PRO side carriers. 45 liters of storage space are also available here.
Plastic bags and cases
But SW-Motech also offers a solution for smaller luggage: The Urban ABS saddlebags each hold 16.5 liters of luggage and the SysBag bags optionally hold ten, 15 or 30 liters. SW-Motech has not yet announced prices for either set. The Blaze H saddlebags, with a volume of up to 21 liters per bag, cost 311.93 euros as a set including spacer brackets.
Tank bag with tank ring
Travel documents, snacks and smartphones can be stored in the seven to ten liter PRO Engage tank bag, which is quickly and securely attached to the tank using a tank ring with a magnetic guide. The tank bag itself costs 146.22 euros, the matching tank ring 29.24 euros.
Crash bars and crash pads
The four-cylinder and the fairing of the BMW S 1000 XR can be protected with a black crash bar made of 27 mm thick steel. Cost: 175.46 euros. The EVO fog lights can be attached with the matching crash bar clamps (326.55 euros in the kit), the LED auxiliary lights from BMW cannot be combined with the SW Motech crash bar. Frame crash pads and axle crash pads for the front (58.49 euros) and rear (38.99 euros) should be abrasion-resistant thanks to the fiberglass-reinforced plastic and prevent major damage to the left side of the swing arm and the fork base in the event of a fall.
Conclusion
Depending on the luggage system, this involves a lot of money. But there is the usual SW-Motech quality and no more annoying untying of luggage bags.
