For the 80th anniversary of the Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota, Indian is bringing a new Jack Daniel’s bike. The Whiskey Indian is already the fifth special model that the two American manufacturers are launching together.

It is not yet very clear which model the fifth Jack Daniel’s Indian is based on, but the two published teasers indicate that it will be a Chieftain. One of the pictures shows the tank, the other shows an air filter with the label "Thunder Stroke 116 cubic inches". Currently there are I.ndian Chieftain Dark Horse with the 1.890 cm³ V2. It pushes 92 hp at 4,200 rpm, the maximum torque of 168 Nm is at 2,800 rpm. It costs from 30,490 euros.

Again in limited numbers?

It is almost certain that the special model from America’s first series motorcycle manufacturer and America’s first registered distillery will be above the base price. How many models there will be of the limited edition is not yet known.

Last year the whiskey bike was based on a Springfield Dark Horse and was limited to 177 models. This year the special model pays homage to the 80th anniversary of the Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota. The motorcycle event traditionally lasts ten days and with half a million visitors is one of the largest in the world. In 2020 it will take place from August 7th to 16th.
