Ducati Scrambler in the PS driving report
Is more than just strolling?
Content of
Who would have thought that? Apart from any high performance, the Ducati Scrambler is finally another machine to stroll through. Or maybe the new one can do more?
Somehow you don’t want to believe it: Ducati is said to be building a motorcycle to drive slowly again. You don’t believe it at first because the Monster models were somehow becoming more and more sporty, and even when the boys from Bologna sent a “cruiser” on the journey with the Diavel, it brought all the facilities with it to accelerate everything on the Traffic lights stood, and the taillight to show almost everyone on the street. So now the time has come: The Ducati S.crambler ties in with the good old days of the sixties and seventies, wants to serve its 75 hp in a casual way, de-stress the driver and amaze the other people. Let’s make it short: it works. Even perfect.

More than just strolling?
Ducati Scrambler looks lovely, friendly, pleasing. And honestly: you find a lot of metal and little plastic. The stylishly designed aluminum throttle grip housing or the aluminum headlight ring alone are a successful journey through time to the seventies. Things like this arouse sympathy. And without driving. Take your partner with you to the dealer. He or she will point a finger at the scrambler, in love, since it is harmless and nice. Does that change while driving??
Wheelies have seldom been ridden more casually
No. 75 horses from 803 cubic meters are sufficient for any kind of surfing on the country road. Seldom has you sat more relaxed than on the Ducati Scrambler. And, surprise: you have rarely ridden wheelies more casually. Because the ample torque curve paired with an upright seating position and low weight (186 kilos with a full tank) makes front-wheel-friendly driving super easy. In general, this Ducati, which basically doesn’t want to be one, could have been called Super Easy. Because everything almost goes by itself: Give in? Light as a feather. Brakes? Easy to dose, effective ABS. Sit? Only on mokicks did you sit more relaxed in the past. Drive? Lively. Handling? Relaxed. So a soup with no hair in it?
No. On the one hand, the gear shifts a little bit hooked, on the other hand, the spring elements should respond a bit more sensitively. The shock absorber in particular is a bit stubborn. But that’s complaining at a high level. Riding a Ducati Scrambler is more than just moving a machine. It is a way of life that not only captivates old motorcycle enthusiasts, but could also attract youngsters.

… and again in yellow.
Everything done right. The new Ducati Scrambler meets the zeitgeist and wants one thing above all: to convey a positive mood on the subject of motorcycles. The machine is extremely valuable and cool. Anyone who already has a Gixxer, R1 or Super Duke & Co. in the garage should treat themselves to this opposite pole. Seldom have you burned up enjoyable and relaxed time.
