Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark

Fresh paintwork and Euro 5 for 2020

EICMA 2019

Ducati presented a new version of the Scrambler Icon in the run-up to EICMA: The Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark will roll onto the streets with Euro 5 in 2020.

The Ducati Scrambler family is growing: As in previous years, Ducati will also be introducing a new version of the S.crambler on the market. The Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark differs from the other Scrambler models largely through the paintwork. Apart from changes to the engine to comply with the Euro 5 standard, there are technically no major differences to the already known models.

Entry into the scrambler world

According to their own statements, the new Icon Dark should represent the entry into the world of the 800 scrambler from Ducati. According to the traditional Italian manufacturer, the new Dark is also the ideal motorcycle when it comes to customizing it. In particular, the paint called “Matte Black” and the black elements on the tank and the spring elements should harmonize with other accessories from the Ducati range.

The new Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark is available from 8,590 euros.

The Scrambler Icon Dark is powered by the well-known and air-cooled L-twin engine with 803 cm³, which, at least in the current models, delivers 73 hp at 8,250 / min and 67 Nm at 5,750 / min. However, the engine has been slightly revised for 2020 and is now Euro 5 compliant. Nothing should have changed in the performance data. It is not yet known whether the Icon Dark will also be available as a 48 hp version. When dry, the new model in the "open" version should weigh 175 kilograms. The seat height is 798 mm. A wide handlebar should ensure a comfortable seating position. Also included are an LCD display, an 18-inch front wheel, a 17-inch rear wheel, Pirelli tires and cornering ABS as standard. Ducati has also already commented on the price: the new model will cost 8,590 euros. This makes it cheaper than the Scrambler models currently on offer, which start at 9,190 euros.

Conclusion

Tea Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark is not necessarily a completely new model. Ducati is donating the already well-known 800 scrambler in the Icon version more updates such as a new paintwork and Euro 5. Due to the lower price compared to other Scrambler models, the new Icon Black could still be a good alternative for those who already have already flirted with the purchase of a Ducati Scrambler.
