Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition
Racing replica for the road
Supersport fans have been waiting for a Triumph Daytona 765. Now it comes as a limited racing replica with 130 HP three-cylinder and Moto2 borrowings.
D.he market for supersport motorcycles in the middle class is bobbing about. The Japanese hold the flags high with the Kawasaki ZX-6R and the Yamaha R6. Honda has reissued the more moderate CBR 650 R. Triumph never replaced the Daytona 675. Until now. The new Triumph Daytona 765 was unveiled as a Moto2 Limited Edition on August 23 at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The racing replica offers the three-cylinder engine from Moto2 paired with equipment that should hardly be inferior to racing bikes. The “Limited” in the name naturally stands for a limited edition of the Daytona. Only 765 machines will be manufactured for the USA and Canada, with another 765 planned for Europe, Asia and the rest of the world. A corresponding sticker on the milled fork bridge identifies every motorcycle. The Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition will be available in Germany from February 2020. The basic price is given as 19,250 euros.

Three-cylinder with 130 hp
The 765 cm³ in-line three-cylinder should be derived directly from the Moto2 racing engine. The titanium inlet valves, pistons and piston pins, the new camshaft profiles, the connecting rods, the crankshaft and the cylinder liners were designed with know-how from the racing engine. In addition, the compression was increased to 12.9: 1 and the speed limit was increased by 600 tours to 13,250 rpm. The triple brings it to 130 hp at 12,250 / min and a maximum torque of 80 Nm, which should be available at 9,750 / min. For the racing engine, more than 140 hp are specified. A titanium rear silencer from Arrow optimizes the exhaust flow. The transmission received new pairs of gears and a longer first gear. Triumph promises clearly noticeable extra power across the entire speed range compared to the Street Triple.
High quality equipment
Triumph has also stepped up the equipment for the special model. The Stylema radial brake calipers and the radial master brake cylinder MCS come from Brembo. Ohlins contributes a 43 mm NIX30 front fork with 120 mm travel and a TTX36 shock absorber with 133 mm travel.

The new, lighter 17-inch cast rims are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires. For a captivating look and less weight, all cladding parts are made of carbon in a visible construction. Only a few surfaces are painted in gray and silver tones. There is also a Moto2 branding. Frame and swing arm are not powder-coated, but anodized.
Five driving modes to choose from
triumph
The information transfer from the machine to the driver is handled by a full-color TFT display, as we already know from other Triumph models.
The information transfer from the machine to the driver is handled by a full-color TFT display, as is already known from other Triumph models. For the first time at a Daytona, drivers can use five driving modes (Rain, Road, Rider Configurable, Sports and Track). In all modes, the settings for throttle response, traction control and ABS are adapted to the driving style and road conditions. Also on board is a standard gear shift assistant for extremely fast gear changes when shifting up and down.
Those who like their Daytona even more individual can put together their dream bike from 35 accessories.
Conclusion
Cleverly done! Triumph serves Daytona fans with a combination of an old frame and a new engine. The limited edition is a guarantee for the safe sale of the super sports car.
