The two overhead camshafts and the super-square dimensions (bore greater than the piston stroke) erase vibrations. Smooth and torquey, the engine is pleasant, without being overwhelming. In 2007, the twin swells in displacement, displaying the cubic capacity common to all versions of Bonneville, namely 865 cm3. 5 more horses are on call and a good additional mkg. The gearbox, despite a fairly short first, and the clutch contribute to the overall smoothness. Astonishingly quiet operation for a twin set at 360 °. Only the whistling of the cast shocks the hearing. The Bonnie therefore prefers a leisurely stroll to the arsenal or long sections of highways. The ramage matches the plumage. The 205 kg dry are easy to handle and forgive clumsiness. The handling is good and the course is reassuring. Like the engine, the cycle part does not like to be abrupt. The sparsely padded / hard saddle and rear shocks lacking travel, spoil the comfort. Braking is consistent with the peace of mind of the motorcycle. The Bonneville is not the Bonnie one could hope for, but she proves to be a faithful companion for Sunday walks.
