Victory enriches its range with a Bagger with an unfortunate tendency to bad manners: the Hard-Ball. With its ape-hanger handlebars, dark paint, spoked rims and tiny counter block, this custom cultivates its genre, yet quite close to the ‘Dark Custom’ style of its main competitor.. Plethoric of variations around the big twin of 1731 cm3, the Hard-Ball is in fact a touring version of the High-Ball to which we have added the rear part of a Cross Country, i.e. a set of rigid suitcases, an elongated saddle to accommodate more worthy of a passenger, two tailpipes modified in a single element, and a complete covering around the rear wheel. The minimalist fender of the 8-ball is also replaced by that of the X-country.

At Victory, ‘Balls’ are accessible versions of a defined model. Not for this “hard”, but its name justifies a more austere presentation but not devoid of interest, readily displaying a bad boy tendency that suits him strongly. Style and travel, here is what interested those who drive nails with their fists and anxious to discover another version of the American motorcycle.
The Hard-Ball is powered by the only in-house engine, a 106 cubic inch air-cooled twin cylinder. He leaves 97 horses in the States, 89 with us. The torque value hardly suffers when crossing the border, coming in at 15 mkg. A large 22-liter tank allows for long stages while cruising, ABS is standard, as is the very distinctive position and rather intrinsic handling. With the hands at the same level as the nose, the feet not very far from the front tire, a wheelbase of 1.67 m and a weight of 345 kilos, no need to hope for agility and ease, even if the Victory chassis can boast of ” much higher efficiency than Milwaukee productions.
