With his Judge, Victory performs a new version of the Muscle Bike. A machine with a particular taste from the manufacturer, more traditional and more vintage than usual. Automobile fans will have quickly reacted to this provocative name, and the small details of this motorcycle sparkle with reference to an iconic figure of the 4-wheel world: the Pontiac GTO..
It is no coincidence that Victory is making many references to this car. This 1960’s Pontiac, nicknamed ‘Judge’, was the first of the Muscle Cars. Machines with a huge engine, very efficient in acceleration but not really remarkable in top speed.
The custom that bears this name also displays certain attributes inspired by the American GTO, such as its rims in the same design or the orange color (previous vintages). Very trendy, the black is posed as well on the frame as the triple trees and the fork sleeves, the handlebars, the crankcases and the cylinder head covers, the foot controls, the exhausts and the small headlight. The latter clearly abandons the Victory style for a more consensual, minimalist form, such as the dashboard reduced to a single instrument (however complete).
If the general shape is not very far from a Vegas, the rear part is much more worked, and does not resemble that of a Hammer, the other Muscle Bike of the range. The saddle is particularly hollowed out to accommodate the kidneys during strong acceleration. Underneath it are oval side panels similar to number plates. And therefore judge this rear light in arrowhead, whose imprint is found at the end of the saddle, as if one did not want to separate from the other.
The chosen pneumatic assembly is surprising. When the competition mainly puts on a 240 rubber at the rear, the 1700 Judge only stretches out a 140, barely wider than the front tire. Here is which announces an agility which will surprise the amateurs of this category. But will this 140 be able to correctly collect the big mkg of the twin Freedom ?
Unsurprisingly, this Minnesota custom beats to the rhythm of the big 1731 cm3 / 106 ci mounted on the entire range. With over 90 horsepower in the boiler, it greatly outclasses Harley’s Twin Cam in power. The latter will claim more character.
Watch out for speed, because even if you will never catch up with a GSX-R with this 300-kilo beast, a good spike on this machine will only be calmed by a front brake disc. Feel free to use the rear, claiming the same 300mm diameter.
Let’s not speculate too much on optimism, though. Coupled, modern and lively, the two-cylinder Victory is however far from offering as much potato as an H-D 1250 Muscle or an 1800 Marauder..
