Vins Duecinquanta
250 cc two-stroke engine with over 70 hp
EICMA 2019
The two-wheel manufacturer Vins from Maranello has been developing an extremely sporty two-stroke rocket with a 250cc V engine for years. A street, a racing and an electric version were presented at EICMA 2019.
D.he Vins Duecinquanta combines a monocoque made of carbon fiber laminate with a fork based on the Hossack principle and a carbon rear swing arm. The road version of the 250 V2 two-stroke engine develops 75 hp at 11,700 rpm and has a maximum torque of 45 Nm at 11,700 tours. It is shifted by a six-speed gearbox. For the dry weight, Vins gives only 105 kilograms, the top speed should be 210 km / h.
For the stoppers, Vins relies on a 300 double disc at the front and J.Juan brake calipers, supported by a 220 disc at the rear. 17-inch wheels, also made of carbon, with tires measuring 120/70 at the front and 150/60 at the rear are used for the gear train.
Racing version in the Britten look
For the Competizione version, which was also presented at EICMA, Vins gives the same engine key data; the omission of the lighting reduces the weight further to just 102 kilograms. An adapted transmission allows a Vmax of 230 km / h. And as a special treat, the racing version was presented at EICMA in the color scheme of the legendary Britten V1000.

Carbon is the central building material at Vins Duecinquanta.
E version with zero drive
But the Italians are also thinking about the future and have designed an electric version based on a drive train from Zero, which goes by the name EV-01. Its electric motor is said to have around 70 hp, deliver 150 Nm of torque and make the Vins EV-01 faster than 200 km / h. Energy is stored in a 14 kWh battery. The charging times vary depending on the strength of the charging current between two and almost ten hours. The electric drive naturally puts pressure on the weight: Here the Vins increases to almost 170 kilograms.
