The organizers seem to have taken into account the remarks made by the teams this year, since the first two events of the WSBK 2016 which will take place again on the other side of the world will only be separated by two weeks (instead of a full month in 2015 !).
On the contrary, the third and fourth meetings at the edge of the Pacific will be more spaced out: the date for Malaysia is brought forward to mid-May, and the Superbike riders will fly – without their Supersport comrades – to the United States. United in early July.
Note that the weekend of May 27-29 will be one of the most anticipated of the year, since the strong men of the championship (Rea, Davies, Sykes and Lowes) will race at home, on the Donington Park circuit. Despite their dominance, the British pilots are only entitled to one test…
Italy, on the other hand, will host the Superbike championship three times as Monza returns to the program, in addition to the usual events at Imola and Misano. Tired of repeated cancellations (India and Russia in particular), the Dorna has planned a reserve circuit: Vallelunga, always in Italy !
The Superbike World Championship will also make a big comeback in Germany, at the Lausitzring, but will no longer pass in Portugal on the fabulous Portimao track … Finally, the stages of Magny-Cours (October 2, 2016!) And Jerez are reversed. As for the final bouquet, it will take place again in Losail on October 30 … in the evening !
