Jules Cluzel: there will be a show in WSSP 2016 !
The 2016 World Supersport season promises to be an exciting one due to the change of regulations and the many drivers who are claiming victory. To understand the ins and outs of WSSP 2016, Site interviewed Jules Cluzel. Interview.
Developments in World Supersport 2016
After reshaping the World Superbike last year (read), the Dorna has decided to change the rules of Supersport for next season while. Like the WSBK in 2015, the WSSP wishes to enter in 2016 a new era that is both simpler and less expensive, and therefore more accessible….
"The FIM Supersport World Championship will have new technical regulations which will allow teams to achieve significant reductions in competition costs", announced at the end of the 2015 season the Dorna WorldSBK Organization (DWO) and the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM).
Without going into details for the moment, the two official bodies predict that "the level of readiness of the WSS machines will be similar to that of the most important national championships, which will allow local teams to participate in some wildcard races and increase competition between participants".
At the same time, the organizers decided to abolish the European Superstock 600 and replace this antechamber of the World Supersport by "a new category (which) will be created within the championship and will be dedicated to teams aiming to participate only in European events in order to promote young talents at a reduced cost".
The next World Supersport season promises to be all the more thrilling as many drivers, specialists in the category or of international renown, will be fighting for the title. Among the favorites are naturally our compatriot Jules Cluzel…
