Mercato 2018: Franco Morbidelli goes up in MotoGP with his team Marc VDS
Franco Morbidelli will ride well in 2018 in MotoGP with his current team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS, as announced on MNC for several weeks. The 23-year-old Italian, currently at the top of the Moto2 provisional standings, signed during the 2017 Dutch GP a two-year agreement with his team, with an option for a third year (2020 season, therefore).
This announcement comes after long negotiations between the two parties, Morbidelli having been approached by other MotoGP teams including Pramac, LCR and maybe even Suzuki … Marc VDS currently running Esteve Rabat and Jack Miller on RCV in MotoGP , one of the two will have to give up his handlebars to Morbidelli: even if the official contract between the HRC and Miller expires, it is indeed the Spanish "Tito" Rabat who seems at this stage more threatened.
A teammate of Alex Marquez, “Franky” made his debut for Marc Van den Straten in 2016, with eight podiums and a 4th place finish. More confident this year, he has already won four times, including three in a row in Qatar, Argentina and Austin. After a crash the following race in Jerez, the n ° 21 immediately returned to success in France on his Kalex. He qualified in pole position this weekend in Assen, for the fourth time this season, and currently leads the standings with a 7-point lead over Tom Luthi.
