British GP: another blow for the Circuit of Wales
The nebulous and complicated Circuit of Wales project, a complex on which it is planned to compete in the British GP since 2016 (!), Seems to be definitely going downhill: the government of Wales refuses to take action. financially guarantee it, judging too important "the potential impact on public finances of the current proposal". According to our colleagues at, the decision to reject support for this project was formalized by Cabinet Secretary of Economy and Infrastructure, Ken States. The promoters of the Circuit of Wales would have liked the government to guarantee a loan of around 240 million euros, which is almost half of the total amount planned! Proposal rejected due to "significant risk" that the entire project will end up being fully supported by the Welsh government.

This new setback could be the last for the Circuit of Wales, which had signed a contract six years ago with Dorna (promoter of MotoGP) to host the British GP for five years … A rather surprising contractualization in so far as where the first stone of the new circuit was not even laid yet !
But multiple economic and political imbroglios have each time postponed the deadline, causing more and more mistrust towards the promoters of this project … The Silverstone circuit, originally supposed to ensure the interim until the end of the works of the Circuit of Wales, seems well on course to keep its role of hosting the British MotoGP race, which its leaders will probably welcome.
