No way to leave a big gap between the 765 Street Triple S and the RS; those who hesitate between one and the other risk choosing neither. Now, only the RS benefits from a nice slab of information. For the R, it will be like the S: a half-LCD half-analog handset with a good old needle climbing up to the numbers. This digital loss in no way harms piloting assistance; although some changes are reported. The R has taken over from its previous generation three driving modes (Road – Rain – Sport) by dropping the “Rider”. The latter allowed the pilot to configure the settings to his liking. ABS, traction control and several levels of throttle sensitivity are still there, as well as the automatic indicators.
Well anchored in its positions by releasing a little equipment, the Triumph 765 Street Triple R is a little more affordable. It lets the RS go into higher fights with a sportier endowment, including Brembo M50 brake calipers, a little more horsepower, Ohlins damping, an engine spoiler, more gripping tires, more Riding Modes and 2 kilos less.
The Street Triple R is also available in an LRH version with a dedicated suspension and a saddle 45 mm lower than the standard version, in order to be more accommodating for small riders..
