24 Heures Motos - 2:00 p.m. - GMT 94 in pole position -

GMT 94 will start from pole position at the 29th 24 Hours of Le Mans Moto thanks to Sebastien Gimbert’s time (1’38.174). The Yamaha n ° 94 is ahead of the Suzuki n ° 1 of SERT and the R1 n ° 7 of Yamaha Austria while the Suzuki n ° 72 burned in the warm up…

"I am really happy that Sebastien achieved this pole position"exclaims Christophe Guyot, the team manager of GMT 94 represented this year on the track by Sebastien Gimbert, David Checa and ex-GP driver Garry Mc Coy.

William Coste, the 3rd usual GMT rider, has indeed moved to SERT where he will take the handlebars of Suzuki n ° 2 (4th time) alongside Julien Da Costa and Guillaume Dietrich while the Suz n ° 1 (second on the starting grid) is led by Vincent Philippe, Keiichi Kitagawa and Matthieu Lagrive.

"Obviously I won’t tell you that I’m satisfied", confides Dominique Meliand, boss of SERT after losing pole position:"even if the race is not played in practice, it’s always nice to have pole. It’s a shame, but I guarantee you the race will be very hard for our opponents"…

Yamaha Austria’s R1 n ° 7 (Igor Jerman, Sebastien Scarnato, Gwen Giabbani and Thomas Hinterreiter) takes 3rd place on the starting grid while the official Kawasaki n ° 111 will start in 5th position ahead of Honda n ° 55 by National Motos.

Behind these six Superbike machines are two motorcycles of the Superstock category (the closest to the series): the Kawasaki n ° 83 of Maccio Racing and the Suzuki n ° 72 of the Junior Team. Victim of a heavy fall without gravity during the warm up, the 72 unfortunately burned on its return to the pits…

"It forces us to leave with the mule", regrets Damien Saulnier, the manager of the Junior Team made up this year of Thomas Metro, Freddy Foray and Emmeric Jonchière"All our team is new except Thomas, including the mechanics", specifies Damien Saulnier:"we ate our black bread but others will be able to eat it too … Everything is bordered I think"…

The Decibels Endurance Yamaha n ° 33 led by Phil Giles, Bernard Cuzin and … the sinister Chevalier de Groland Serge Nuques (read) is for its part in 20th position on the grid (4th Stocksport).

Less than an hour before the start, while the national anthems resound in the pit straight, the tension is already palpable in the paddocks of the Bugatti circuit … See you later for a first assessment after the start !
