The readers of the Journal moto du Net – who, as everyone knows, have a little more living memory than the others – remember that the 24H Motos dates back 12 years, when with the National Motos.

This year, it is an official CBR which seizes the victory thanks to the n ° 5 of the Japanese team FCC TSR Honda France, followed by its colleague of the Honda Endurance Racing team in the hands of Gregory Leblanc, Sebastien Gimbert and Erwan Nigon.

Small precision of importance: the victorious Fireblade is a 2016 vintage, the manager of the FCC TSR, Masakazu Fuji, having preferred to discard the new model for reasons of development to be refined on an electronic level. The n ° 111 which follows it, on the other hand, is a good a CBR 2018, proof of the potential of the last born !

Honda n ° 5 FCC TSR Honda France (1st in Le Mans, 1st in the championship)

Josh hook : "This victory is definitely a good start this year in the endurance championship. The whole race was superb and I loved riding with my teammates, whom I thank for this great adventure. This trophy is a fantastic prize".

24 Heures Motos - 24H Motos 2018: the post-race debriefing -

Alan techer : "This race was an incredible experience! For my second 24 hour race here at Le Mans, we already got the victory. I haven’t realized yet, it’s just incredible. Our Bridgestone tires have adapted perfectly to all conditions. I just had a perfect weekend ".

Freddy foray : "Already at the Bol d’Or we were fighting for victory (, Editor’s note), but I still had a good feeling and I felt that we could win a 24 hour race. I just didn’t think so. not that it could happen so quickly. I am perhaps the most experienced driver, but you have to remember that the two youngsters made no mistakes. I want to stress that Mr. Fujii is a manager with whom I really enjoy working and who I am happy in this team ".

Masakazu Fujii (team manager) : "France gave us the energy to win this race! We were already on the podium (in, editor’s note), but being on the top step is an extraordinary moment".

Honda n ° 111 Endurance Racing (2nd at Le Mans, 3rd in the championship)

Sebastien gimbert : "I’m very happy with this result for my whole team! Honestly, yesterday we were in very bad shape in 38th place, so finishing second is just incredible! I attacked all night with my teammates Greg and Erwan and each time our lap times were fast and consistent. For me, finishing second today is my greatest gift of the year! I am very happy for Honda, for the team, the mechanics and everyone involved. good for the championship. The Fireblade is perfect for me, it is extremely fast and I was able to attack as much as possible without problems, overtaking many riders on the track so I am delighted. We are done and so next time ( in, Editor’s note) we start winning! "

24 Heures Motos - 24H Motos 2018: the post-race debriefing -

Gregory Leblanc : "Well, it was crazy! At the start it was not going so badly, then we had problems (of an electrical nature, Editor’s note) and we dropped to 38th place, which was not terrible ! I spoke with Seb and Erwan during the night and we thought that we had to attack, we had no other choice and that’s what we did! Honestly, if you will said we would be on the podium after being 38th, I wouldn’t have believed you! The Fireblade works wonderfully and we were very fast, I was constantly overtaking and it was incredible. This is my second race with Honda and my second podium with them, so maybe I’m a lucky charm?! The first time we finished third, this time second and maybe we’ll win in Slovakia! It’s also the first time that this team finished on the podium at Le Mans, so it’s very special. For me it’s my eighth podium out of ten races at Le Mans, so it’s not that bad and it’s a very special position for m oi ".

Erwan Nigon : "I’m happy to be on the podium at Le Mans with my team. I didn’t think it would be possible when we were 38th, but it’s great! Of course it was difficult, but the Fireblade was the tool ideal to help us get back to the place we deserved. We had some problems at the start, but it happens. The CBR is an excellent bike to ride and I loved doing this race, I passed a lot of riders and I was very comfortable. It’s a very good result for the team, including in the championship standings, and also for Honda with a double today! "

Jonny Twelvetrees (team manager) : "Once again, I’m surprised! I thought what happened at the Bol d’Or for 24 hours was unique, but it happened again here but from the first hours of the race! It shows to how crazy endurance racing is, we climbed from 38th place to finish second! Once we sorted out the little issues, the CBR behaved flawlessly for the rest of the race and the guys were able to line up the fast laps over and over again. Erwan, Greg and Sebastien are great guys to work with. They have a great approach to work and it’s a pleasure to have them with us. Thank you very much to the whole team for their hard work and exemplary refueling ".

BMW n ° 13 Penz13 (3rd at Le Mans, 4th in the championship)

Michael laverty : "First of all, I’m sorry for my crash in my first stint, but then I did everything to make up for my mistake in the race. I was lucky that the bike was not too damaged and I I was able to continue to finish my stint. Considering that we had everything but a race without problems, the flavor of this podium is even better! "

24 Heures Motos - 24H Motos 2018: the post-race debriefing -

Christian Iddon : "We had problems and difficulties which made the race difficult for us, especially when I left for my first stint and the handlebars broke due to Michael’s fall. I am pleasantly surprised by the very professional work. of the team and even happier to have been able to stand on the podium ".

Danny webb : "I’m on the moon! This is my second 24 hour race and we’ve been on the podium twice in two races. Not bad for an endurance rookie like me, um? I’m sorry for that little mistake during my night shift, but it didn’t cost too much. I’m just more than happy to be on the podium again ".

Rico Penzkofer (team manager) : "What a race! After Michael’s little fall during his first stint, we fell in the standings and now we’re on the podium. Of course we took advantage of the bad luck of the others, but that’s also the endurance and on our side everything did not go as planned either. But what we got here as a small private team is something the whole team can be proud of. ".

Kawasaki SRC n ° 11 (5th at Le Mans, 11th in the championship)

Mathieu Gines : "The week had started very well. Our times were good and close, so I was confident for my first stint. Of course I admit being at fault, but I cannot explain my fall. I lost the front. .. Fortunately, the bike did not suffer too much from the fall. I left a little physically weakened, but motivated to redeem myself. What I think I have achieved. My lap times have shown it, despite the pain (damaged right little finger). I now look forward to being in Slovakia next month where our goal of victory will hopefully be reached! "

Pierre Scomo (competition director at Kawasaki France) : "The summer weather surprised more than one. During the pre-tests two weeks ago on this same track, we were 20 degrees cooler! A lot of crews made a mistake. That’s good. simple, it should not fall. I note all the same the spirit of victors which animates at the same time SRC as the pilots, who have not unworthy! I thank them warmly here (Gilles and Isabelle Stafler as well as all the technical team)".

Yamaha n ° 36 3ART Moto Team 95 (1st Superstock at Le Mans, 3rd in the World Cup)

Matthew Lussiana : "A big thank you to the whole 3ART Moto Team 95 team for this fantastic moment and this exemplary race. A perfect week, a really top-notch team, we feel at home in the box, except that it is missing of beers in the fridge! No error for the pilots as for the mechanics, the physiotherapists we did a great job, a very professional staff management. Thank you for trusting me and I hope that we can put the cover back on as soon as possible".

Pepijn Bijsterbosch : "What a weekend! Winner of the 24H Motos in the Superstock category with the 3ART Moto95 team. Thank you all for your many comments and congratulations, it was really great!"

Yamaha n ° 96 Moto Ain (2nd Superstock at Le Mans, 4th in the World Cup)

Alexis Masbou : "Incredible, this 24 Hours Motorbike race! It was more a speed race than an endurance race and we ended up in second only 9 seconds from the victory. Thanks to Moto-Ain and my teammates, Roberto Rolfo and Christoffer Bergman, who assured ".

Kawasaki n ° 4 Tati Team (4th Superstock at Le Mans, 1st in the world cup)

Kevin denis : "After a fall in the first hour of the race, we left good last 60th with 14 laps behind! 24 hours later and after an impressive comeback, we crossed the finish line 11th overall and 4th stock! A big bravo to the team and to my teammates who did a great job! "

Julien Enjolras : "So we finished 11th overall and 4th stock … What a boost! But the most important thing is that we keep our first place in the general Stocksport classification".

Yamaha n ° 94 GMT (10th at Le Mans, 2nd in the championship)

Niccolò Canepa : "It’s not the race we expected after leading the race for 18 hours with 5 laps ahead of the second bike. It’s endurance, that’s what we do, and it is sometimes unfair. But when you push to the limit for the last three years and win almost every race and every world championship title, you know that someday something can happen. . We have no regrets, we are a great team and everyone did their best. We stick together in the glory and in bad days like this! Anyway the championship is open and we are going to we beating until the last corner of the last race! Many thanks to the whole GMT94 team. Today they were amazing, the fastest at every pit stop, and they rebuilt two bikes in record time. I am proud to be part of this team and I am proud to have two great coequi piers like David Checa and Mike Di Meglio. We will come back stronger! Now I deserve some rest! "

Mike di Meglio : "We finished these 24 Heures Motos very disappointed … We had given everything during the night and managed to widen a gap of 5 laps on the second! But it’s the race, sometimes everything goes as planned and others no! A big thank you to all the GMT94 Yamaha team members, who worked like crazy! "

24 Heures Motos - 24H Motos 2018: the post-race debriefing -

Christophe Guyot (team manager) : "The races follow each other and are not alike … We have to accept this twist of fate. David Checa has always respected the gait that we set together. We can have no regrets. In endurance, five laps advance acquired at the cost of excellent lap times during the whole night only represent about ten minutes and cannot constitute a comfortable advance. Following his fall, David was incredible because the direction of the bike was blocked and it was very difficult to maneuver. We do not know how he managed to bring it back to the box. The mechanics were able to repair a very damaged motorcycle (injection rail, tank, handlebars, radiators, exhaust line, dashboard , brakes, frames …) in less than 30 minutes. If David’s fall is unexpected, Mike di Meglio was not in the same situation insofar as he had for objective to give everything to climb up the rankings. this race after the disappointment of losing he head was a great satisfaction for us ".

Eric de Seynes (Managing Director of Yamaha Motor) : "I saw at Le Mans a formidable domination of the R1 in practice with the pole of the YART, and in the race with the GMT94 which will dominate without division for almost 18 hours and lead with five laps ahead of its pursuers. the race remains the race and the crash is part of it. Like many on this edition, our two machines went to the mat. The 7 was not repairable and the mechanics of the 94 displayed all their talents to restart the race. motorcycle which will finish 10th thanks to the speed of its three formidable riders. Great satisfaction came from the Superstock category where two Yamaha came to take the first two places! All is well in this feat: passionate and involved dealers, a team of volunteers and motivated and very professional mechanics, safe and talented riders, a great atmosphere in both teams and a very "good" bike! Thank you and bravo to them all! "

Suzuki n ° 2 of SERT (24th at Le Mans, 6th in the championship)

Vincent Philippe : "I am not disappointed with our performance, because without spending 1h11 too much in the pit, we would have won! I believe that today’s motorcycles are definitely complicated, capricious and difficult to develop for competition and especially in endurance. Beyond our precarious rear grip, we could really have a very good race and secure a podium, even a victory. However, the heat made us discover new problems. Without brakes, the power n It’s nothing! We’re going back to work tomorrow and it will pay off "…

Gregg Black : "I managed to find a good pace in qualifying to achieve the second fastest time in my series. We are therefore starting 5th on the grid. On Saturday, my teammate Vincent takes the start and brings the bike back to 5th position. I had a solid first stint which allowed me to put the Suzuki up to 3rd place before giving the handlebars to Etienne Masson. The stints are linked, we are in third position when my teammate is forced to return to the box , detecting a brake problem. As a result, we lose more than 3 minutes. At 2:30 am, start of the twists and turns because we were obliged to return in turn during our respective stints for this persistent brake problem. The Suzuki joined the box to carry out repairs. This time, we lost a lot of time. Etienne left in 38th position after more than an hour of immobilization. Resigned and aware that the podium and the victory had undeniably escaped us, we let’s go on to chain quick relays. We tried to climb up the rankings as well as possible, unfortunately we will finish in 24th place. It’s a little frustrated that we are closing this second round of the championship, disappointed not to have scored any points. We will continue to work to find solutions and refine this new Suzuki as well as possible ".

Dominique Meliand (team manager) : "We were not spared during this difficult race. You also have to remember that our bike is improving as Le Mans was only its second race. Clearly, we still have work to do. Of course we have to solve this braking problem which deprived us of a great race this weekend. Because this new GSX-R1000 has everything to win! "
