Yoshimura and Suzuki dress up the B-King

Accessories - Yoshimura and Suzuki dress the B-King -

At the dawn of its third year of marketing, the famous Japanese preparer Yoshimura offers a sharper and less intimidating stern to the radical B-King. In addition, Suzuki announces tariffs preserved until the end of 2008, except for the 650 SV.

Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2001 as a prototype, the B-King had the effect of a bomb: radical in its design, the machine also promised extraordinary performance, provided by the efficient 1300cc of the Hayabusa.

Phantasmagorical and tantalizing, however, the project took a long time to be completed and if its exhibition here and there always caused so much excitement at first, the bellows ended up falling somewhat. But Suzuki had the leisure to measure the extent of the phenomenon and after having slightly revised its copy, the Japanese manufacturer surprised its world by unveiling a marketable B-King at the 2006 motorcycle world !

Shamelessly taking up the recent 1340cc of the last Hayabusa, the B-King impresses as much by its size as by its performance: with 183.5 hp at 9,500 rpm and 146.2 Nm of torque at 7,200 rpm, the Suz ‘then does not make any complex on the market of large roadster, even if the recent V-Max and its 200 hp (!) now steal the palm of maximum power (read).

During the contact with the beast (read the test), Suzuki France had not hidden high ambitions for this model which proved to be surprisingly pleasant on the road: no less than 500 sales were planned before the end of 2007 and 1000 predictions for the year 2008.

But the B-King paid the price for a too exuberant design and manga to really seduce: with 259 sales at the end of 2007 and 420 for the first nine months of 2008, the sulphurous Suzuki seems to have trouble digesting its bulky plastic. To lighten the rear – the source of much debate – the manufacturer-preparer Yoshimura is launching a limited series of 100 copies of B-King equipped with stainless steel silencers Dual Oval"approved and marked with the initials B-King.

The B-King Yoshimura is already available at a price of € 13,999 including VAT, or € 300 more than the standard version. 50 models equipped with ABS are also offered to French enthusiasts for € 14,499 including tax. An interesting offer in more than one way, because since 1954 the quality of the achievements of the Yoshimura workshops has been recognized by all and visually the rear of the motorcycle is gaining in lightness..

Finally, if Suzuki France is still not able to tell us the price of the eagerly awaited Gladius (read), the blues announce prices preserved on almost the entire range, except the SV 650 and SV 650 S K9 which show an inflation of 500 €.
