From 290 km / h standing on the buttocks … in 8.5 sec !

Arriving in the Sepang pit straight at a speed close to 290 km / h, Loris’ fall lasted exactly 8.5 seconds from the moment the electronic airbag system detected a loss of control caused by the explosion of the Michelin rear tire, the origin of which has yet to be determined.

The Avintia rider went over his Ducati 1.9 seconds after this loss of control was detected by the sensors.

Activated at the first warning signs of a fall identified, the Tech-Air took action as soon as Loris was ejected from his motorcycle: in just 60 milliseconds, the protective cushion installed in his suit inflated for the protect before it hits the ground. And fortunately, because when the Haute-Savoie tested asphalt for the first time, an instantaneous micro shock with a violence estimated at 29.9 G was recorded in the area of his left shoulder! The n ° 76 then slipped on the buttocks and the back for 6.6 seconds without injuring himself, and especially while almost being struck by his motor bike which crossed the track from left to right after having hit the low wall !

Loris "Airbaz", without big sore

Released unharmed, except for a few bruises and aches, Loris then returned to his stand on foot and resumed the track a few hours after the accident, when his team completed the overhaul of his crumpled motorcycle. A real miracle coupled with a great lesson in courage … as well as a good promotion for Tech-Air !
