"My favorite toy is obviously my trial bike, then my bikes. There’s only one here, because my rollers are upstairs. Of course, there are also skis and snowboards.".
What’s the first thing you do when you get home after a Grand Prix ?
“Like all athletes and pilots, I want to disconnect. I try to take a walk in the mountains with Esther (her partner), to tell her how the weekend went and also to go out with the dogs. C is a way to disconnect ".
Do people generally recognize you? Do they stop you in the street ?
“Sometimes. It happens more and more, with all the titles we’ve won. At the end of the day, trials are a confidential sport where luckily people enjoy what you do without disturbing you – and I think that this is a positive aspect of this sport ".
How many trophies do you think you have ?
"A lot! I have competed for many years and here we have the X-Trial, the most recent of which is from this world championship. Here at the back are the last ones we have achieved in recent seasons. Others are scattered around museums, at Honda’s, and I think the majority are with my parents ".
Do you ever plan to create a museum ?
"I would like, when my career is over. In the entrance of the house, there are some special trophies. It’s the one from the Naturlandia race, the first year I went. It was a very difficult race which I have fond memories of ".
What is the favorite place in your house ?
"My favorite place is the living room. It’s where I disconnect the most, the place where I spend the most hours. I love being here because when you come back from a trip, you enjoy ‘have a place where you can disconnect and relax ".
What is your favorite movie ?
"My favorite film is" 300 "(an American peplum, adaptation of a comic book retracing / rewriting a great battle in ancient history, Editor’s note). It’s a film that gives me a lot of energy, and that I watched several times ".
What is the last book you read ?
"I’m not a big reader. I did read Rafael Nadal’s biography though. I think he’s an athlete I have a lot in common with. I like to see how he works and what kind of mentality he has ".
What super power would you like to have ?

Is this the famous terrace that appears in your confinement videos ?
“Yes, it’s a terrace that we enjoyed a lot more than I would have imagined, as we used it a lot during the lockdown. I never imagined that I could train here. Thanks to my neighbors who didn’t give me any problems, I was able to spend a little time on my motorbike ".

"I would like to invite Will Smith. He is a famous person who seems very kind, very funny and whom I would like to meet."
Which historical figure would you like to spend a day with ?
"I would say Neil Armstrong maybe, to ask him if he really went to the moon or if everything was rigged".
Which sportsman do you admire ?
"Leo Messi. He is an incredible athlete, I am a big fan of Barça, and given the story he is writing, he is a sportsman that I adore".
Apart from your motorbike, what object could you not do without in life ?
"I would say my bike. He’s the one I spend the most time with, besides my bike, and he’s an incredible addition to my training.".
What is your culinary specialty ?
"I quite like cooking. I really like making paella. I found it very difficult but ended up learning. I really like doing it with Esther when we hang out and log off. Now , I’m starting to improve myself a little and we like it a lot. I have a kitchen that helps me a lot. In addition to that, I make fideuás (a specialty of Valencia and its surroundings, a kind of vermicelli paella, Editor’s note) and many other things, but I have a little more trouble with the elaborate dishes ".
What is inevitably found in your pantry ?
"As an athlete, I have to have carbohydrates. I really like pasta: it’s something very quick to do, it gives you a lot of energy and I eat it almost every day".
What’s in your fridge that shouldn’t be there ?
"I have a few beers to relax after the races. I’m not a heavy drinker, but I always have a few because they go down quickly!"
Are you an orderly person at home ?
"Yes. Esther is tidier than me, but I try to help as much as possible and focus more on not getting dirty and taking care of things.".
What was your best subject in school ?
"Ouch, it was complicated at school … and my mom and my sister are teachers. Maybe physical education was the subject I was most good at.".
Where do you train and how many hours a day do you spend at the gym ?
“As I get older, I do a little more gym, especially to prevent injuries. Over the years, I have had to adapt, because at first I didn’t do very much. I have a gym. pretty straightforward, with the four machines I use the most. I do a lot of stretching. Like I said, I’ve had a lot of injuries in the last few years so I try to do a recovery session after ‘workout, which suits me very well, then I do cardio with rollers and my bikes. Esther is also a fan of cycling, and it helps me to do almost an hour of roller coaster per day ".
Are you more of a mountain bike or road bike? ?
"Mountain biking. I prefer because there is always the reward: when you get to the top, you enjoy the descent, which is very technical."
What music do you listen to before a competition ?
"I like music a lot, but before a competition I have my rituals and my superstitions, I don’t listen to music."
Where would you like to get lost ?
"I like the mountains to walk and be isolated. I never would have imagined it, but I like to disconnect more and more in the mountains".
What is your obsession ?
"My sport and my bike. I’m a great perfectionist. That’s what I think about the most and that’s what occupies most of my day".
What are the three adjectives that define you ?
"I am calm, even if some people cannot believe it. I am a perfectionist when it comes to motorcycles, and then I am a very aggressive rider, who gives everything on the track".
Where do you see yourself in ten years ?
"It’s tough, I’m sure to stay in motorsport. I love what I do, I really enjoy it and I would like to continue to help young riders so that they can achieve what I am doing. accomplished and enjoyed ".
Let us go back ten years. What advice would you give to Toni Bou from 2010 ?
“I would tell him to have fun and watch out for injuries, which hurt me the most. Fortunately, it was never too bad. I was very lucky and won many titles. ".
What would you like to tell your fans about 2021 ?
"This year has been very strange and I missed them so much. I would like 2021 to be a normal year and see each other at the races. We’ll see.".
