BMW K1300R, K1300S and K1300GT test: three Ks apart

Even in the south of France, the month of December can have difficult driving conditions. And that’s good, when it comes time to try the three new BMW K 1300s: a roadster, a sports car and a roadster that are not afraid of anything. !

In the end – and who would have believed it, knowing the levels already reached by the 1200? -, these three K have really progressed: not only thanks to the increase in their cubic capacity, but also thanks to the tweaks of the transmission, the cycle part and the piloting aids.

Disconcerting in their performance, these new BMWs are also disconcerting in their prices: 14,220 € for the R, 16,270 for the S and 18,170 for the GT. "Prices that have not increased much compared to previous models", relativizes Jean-Michel Cavret: 120 € more for the roadster and 170 € for the sport and the road.

But in addition to these basic rates, there is the price of options, particularly numerous on the motorcycles in our test. Now it is this equipment – in addition to the duolever and paralever of course – which make these Behemians "cases" apart in current production. !

By choosing the most expensive option "packs", invoices thus reach 20,290 € for the GT, 18,150 € for the S and 16,340 € for the K 1300 R! Will the Christmas New Years be enough ?

• "Safety Pack": RDC + ASC tire pressure warning light: 410 €

• "GT1 Pack": heated grips + on-board computer: 410 €

• "GT2": GT1 + ESA II + heated saddle: € 1,150

• "GT3": GT2 + Xenon headlamps + cruise control: € 1,710

Main options of the BMW K 1300 S:

• "Security" : RDC + ASC tire pressure warning light: 410 €

• "Pack S": shifter + ESA II + heated grips + on-board computer: € 1,470

Main options of the BMW K 1300 R:

• "Security" : RDC tire pressure indicator + Integral ABS + ASC: € 1,410

• "Pack R": sport rims + heated grips + on-board computer + windscreen + LED indicators: € 710
• Shifter: 360 €

• ESA II: 750 €
