The roadster that rocks the sauce … bolognese !
After pitting the Ducati Monster 1100 against the Triumph Speed Triple, Site met face to face with the new Ducati Diva: the Streetfighter. What is the ultimate roadster from the Bologna brand in its standard version ? Test !
Check List before mission…
The reception that the Streetfighter reserves to its pilot "missile" is rather good: the tank is fine, the footrests and the saddle are not too high perched and the handlebars are not excessively low. In short, we find exactly what we are looking for and only the biggest – and the most nitpicky! – will complain that their knees are hitting the tank cover.
On the other hand, they will be more numerous – and their criticism will be much more admissible – to deplore the excessive exposure of the lower part of the radiator: projections and stones risk piling up there … when it is not a sidewalk at home. inattentive or optimistic urbanites !
On the site dedicated to its latest roadster, Ducati ensures that "the heart of the Streetfighter remains protected by two liquid-cooled radiators"… An engine" protected "from excessively high heat by its cooling system, that’s quite logical, but" protected "from road dirt, it is much less … We will therefore proceed to frequent checks and cleaning, both for form and substance.
The commodos themselves convinced us frankly: compact, they are perfectly functional. Only the turn signal control requires a very small time to adapt, due to its really small size. Switching from low beam to high beam is done with a simple flick of the index finger down, while the change of info on the dashboard is done with the thumb up. Childish! We also note that the two levers are adjustable.
The counter is placed low enough behind the handlebars but remains perfectly readable. The information it displays is numerous despite the absence of a fuel gauge, partly compensated for by a second partial trip which is triggered when the motorcycle passes on the reserve.
Another reminder that the table persisted in displaying at each of our start-ups: our – your future? – Streetfighter is an "FRA" version … understand a restrained motorcycle! A relatively useless info since the ultra short stroke of the throttle is enough to verify it: the 155 horses announced at 9500 rpm will therefore not be there in France….
In addition to a good third of his team, the pilot must leave behind him a rain suit, lock and other personal effects: under the passenger seat hides just a USB cable that owners of the S version will use to plug in their DDA key, charged. to collect all the information concerning the performance of the motorcycle, therefore of its rider !
Finally, the time has come to launch hostilities: ignition on, starter activated … The alarm clock is laborious: we almost complain about the battery and the starter responsible for moving the two large bowls in their cylinders, but once the famous "has been launched"Testratetta Evoluzione"gallops happily … On the way !
