All the Duels - Head-to-head CBF 600 S - XJ6 Diversion: the basics strike back - Trip friend: the Suzuki GSX-F 650

This year, the new Yamaha XJ6 Diversion joins the discreet but nonetheless excellent Honda CBF 600 S in the small road motorcycle market. Will the novelty live up to the category benchmark? ? Trial in a fratricidal duel !

Girlfriend on the road: the Suzuki GSX-F 650

The road from Suzuki accompanied us in the Morvan. Indeed, we wanted to gauge this Bandit in GSX-R dress compared to the two 600 cc (read our).

First observation that is obvious: the GSXF is undoubtedly less agile. We have the impression that it is much heavier than its competitors, even though it is 6 kg less than the Honda and only 5 more than the Yam ‘. A sensation undoubtedly due to its handlebars placed lower and its center of gravity higher.

The Suz ‘is therefore a little less efficient on very bumpy roads. On the other hand, on its handlebars, we revel in the big fast curves where its great stability reassures. Its 4-cylinder, which benefits from 56 cc and 7 additional hp, is really brilliant in terms of its displacement.

As for its smooth and precise gearbox, it is clearly the best of the three. Without being brutal, the braking offers an appreciable power and a feeling. Its bubble exposes the upper body more but the legs and feet are better protected thanks to the integral fairing.

Aesthetically, the GSX-R styling and the magnificent dashboard – with gear indicator engaged, please – are particularly rewarding. We will just regret this exhaust as huge as unsightly !

Finally, a last significant point: the Suzuki GSX 650 F offers a well-placed price, at € 6,499. Nevertheless, we dream of a version equipped with ABS that would perfectly match the vocation of this machine good for everything..
