Frustrated at not being able to show us its true face, the ZX-6R welcomes the last part of our test with undisguised impatience: on the technical track of the Écuyers, made available to us by one of the owners who drives a BMW K 1300 R, the Green has a real card to cut down to convince skeptics: its exceptional front axle and its tuned chassis !
Again in the original configuration – because of dark threats of reprisals weighing on French importers in the event of an unbridled motorcycle loan to the press, including on the track! -, the new Japanese Supersport benefits wonderfully from a chassis balance rarely achieved and its braking with small onions !
If the agility and stability were already pleasing on the road, a few laps of the track are enough to transform the test: the bike dives sharply and it is now possible to correct the trajectory with a flick, despite a rear brake shy.
Again dazzling, the front axle returns absolute confidence and if the bike "pedals" a little in the straight line because of its bridle, the ZX-6R still catches 200 km / h before entering with ease in a ultra fast right where the pilot dives without shuddering thanks to the imperial stability ! .
No parasitic movement punctuates the exercise – the steering damper is definitely bored! – and if the lack of trunk under 6,000 rpm forces you to enter first gear to tackle tight bends at the back of the circuit, the maneuver is carried out without apprehension, as the torque limiter clutch effectively stops the slightest escape from the back !
