Dani Pedrosa, Honda-Repsol (3rd qualifying and 3rd in the race): "I’m pretty happy with this podium. We worked really well this weekend and we managed each situation well. In the race, I felt pretty strong during the first laps, I was in Marc’s wheel and then I started to feel some degradation of the rear tire, but I was like, "Okay, no worries. Site analysis: A podium without much panache for Dani Pedrosa at the Sachsenring, like his first part of the 2017 season: always placed but rarely a winner (except in Jerez), "Pedro" is struggling to fully convince of his ability to play the title. The n ° 26 is fifth in the provisional after nine contested races, 16 points behind Rossi who precedes him (103 points against 119 for the Italian) and 26 lengths behind the leader, Marc Marquez (129 pts).

And yet Pedrosa was perceived by his teammate as the most threatening at the German GP, ​​Marquez expecting to fight with his box neighbor in view of his convincing tries (3rd in qualifying) and his usual skill in Germany (Pedrosa y has four MotoGP victories: in 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2012).
