The APRILIA ETX is a trail available in blue / gray and yellow / black which weighs around 120 kg. Quite high, it requires a good 1.75 m to have the feet flat. The ETX is a very powerful 125 with its 15 horsepower, but which increases to 26 which are only waiting to be exploited after a good break-in and a little tuning.. It is in the acceleration that all the power of the ETX resides, once in the revs, it pushes very hard (for a 125 engine of course). At peak, we quickly reach 120, which is more than honorable in this trail segment. The noise remains that of a 2 stroke but quite pleasant.
The ETX is provided with an irreproachable handling, of the angle: you take as much as you want and it always holds !! IMPRESSIVE !! Inverted fork with a serious diameter and braking provided by 2 discs allow the motorcycle to stop quickly and powerfully while maintaining good stability. Starter on the handlebars (very practical) blocking the direction of the switch, warning light but no reserve indicator.
Count 5 to 6 liters of consumption. It is admittedly a little high, but in fact it is the same for any other 125 2 stroke, but compared to the delivered performance of the machine, it is not that much. Provide a change of segmentation every 10,000 km (250 € with overhaul and labor included) and piston, segment every 20,000 (400 €). More expensive than a 4-stroke but incomparable in terms of sensation, performance and driving pleasure. Reliable, as long as you let it heat up and respect the maintenance, this Aprilia can be found at very attractive prices. Also know that there is no problem to find parts, the bike being recent and the engine widely distributed in the Aprilia 125 range.Having owned several 125s (Varadero, TDR, Daelim VT …) I find that this one \ “gives \” more for its money.
