Automatic mode is another dimension of comfort. Weakly established with us (small clientele and only a few models: Mana 850 std, Honda DCT and the Yamaha FJR 1300 AS), the automation is however keen to gain places, and Aprilia intends to strengthen this presence with another version of its auto roadster.. The recipe is the same as for the Shiver GT, which appeared at the same time. We take the machine, its chassis, its engine, its peripherals, we put new stickers, we slightly review the fork to take on a graft and we add a fork crown. Good idea: not only does it increase the road potential of the motorcycle, but it makes it one of the few bikes that relaxes your foot and neck muscles..
At the controls of Mana, several choices are available to you. Case n ° 1: you select a driving mode – Tourism, sport, or rain – you drive, and the electronics take care of the rest.
Case n ° 2: you want to play with the box and the small commodos (or the selector, as desired). Switch to manual, forget the clutch handle, and take advantage of the 7 speeds available. This succession of gears, combined with the 839 cm3 V-twin, will certainly influence a more pleasant and smoother ride..
Yet while you’re dealing with a trellis frame, a big V-twin, and radial brake calipers, the Mana is more practical than sporty (the Shiver and Dorsoduro take care of that). Its 76 horsepower, its smooth torque curve, its adjustable windshield, its automatic gearbox and its false tank (it is actually a trunk that can accommodate a helmet) make it a tailor-made machine for the ride.
Dual channel ABS is available; it is gradually invading the entire Aprilia range.
