Review Yamaha WR 125 X

Cool, peppy, groovy, heavenly ?? there are many attributes that apply to the small 125cc supermoto from Yamaha.

In the mid-eighties, a higher rate from the Gotz company caused a sensation in front of the discotheques. Yamaha DT 80 and the like grew through it by 20 centimeters and were thus optically almost on a par with larger-capacity enduros. 25 years later you can save yourself such a gimmick. The new W.R 125 X, for example, is a fully-fledged motorcycle ex works with a seat height of 905 millimeters, long suspension travel and huge gaps between the wheels and mudguards ?? a real feast for the eyes for fans. As soon as you sit on it becomes clear: People under 1.75 meters should look around for platform shoes in stores. Preferably after galoshes like the ones the Kiss boys wore.

The seat is narrow and extends over the tank. It doesn’t offer much comfort, but allows you to slide far forward to put weight on the front wheel. As soon as you press the button, the small single-cylinder four-stroke engine starts up, immediately runs smoothly and accelerates. The nominally 15 hp four-valve engine celebrated its debut in the YZF-R 125 in 2008 and also powers the WR 125 R enduro version. The test bench attests to 14 HP at 9000 rpm. Enter the corridor and go. The clutch works smoothly and precisely and can even be operated with just two fingers. The six gears are quilted in no time. The engine hangs perfectly on the gas, runs with very little vibration thanks to a balancer shaft and turns euphorically, as if there were no more tomorrow. This happens so flexibly and easily that you quickly get to know the rev limiter, which abruptly puts an end to the lively hustle and bustle of almost 10,000 tours.
