Another excavator league in the USA
Crazy trend as a racing series

It all started with the King of the Baggers. Converted excavator models from Harley and Indian in racetrack trim. This became its own racing series. A trend that the new Bagger Racing League is now fueling.

In addition to the recently founded King of the Baggers racing series this trend is literally drawing wider circles in the United States. The Bagger Racing League, which is also brand new, is also sending converted touring cruisers onto the racetrack. Nothing is closer in terms of driving dynamics than that. It’s great because it’s completely crazy. Behind the new racing series are mainly large tuning providers who hope to attract new customers.

Racing rules explained quickly

An excavator is basically defined as a tour-oriented motorcycle with a high-torque engine, often built as a V2. It must have a large front panel, ideally bolted to the frame. There must be cases at the rear, but not a top case. These models are approved for the races. Usually the chassis is then adapted with other rims and components and tries to save a lot of weight. Elevation should be used to achieve a lean angle that is suitable for knee grinding. Engine tuning is a good thing and in the USA in particular there is plenty of affordable tuning material. Then it’s off to the racetrack. Simple thing.

Races become event weekends

The Bagger Racing League (BRL) is divided into five classes: Hooligan GP, Big Twin GP, Stunt GP, Bagger GP and Pro Stock Bagger. The first race weekend of the 2021 season is scheduled to take place in Salt Lake City, Utah, from June 25th to 27th. Further dates are to be announced shortly. It is planned to turn every race into a 3-day event with an extensive supporting program

So far, eight dealers and 25 teams of tuners and parts dealers have already registered. Big sponsors are also already on board. Spread across all racing classes, the organizers expect around 100 participants per race weekend.

… refreshing motorsport.

Conclusion

Wonderful these racing series straight from Absurdistan. Weird people, drive inclined mopeds as weird as possible. If it starts in Germany, I’ll be there.
